So my 7 and 8 year old daughter and son (both adopted and are in the same class) just brought me pictures they made and colored in class today. My son’s picture was of Death Valley and Sam Leavitt throwing a TD to Green and my daughter’s was of the LSU players dunking the basketball on the sideline.

I honestly didn’t think they paid that much attention but I think they are starting to become die hard LSU fans. I guess I was about their age when I started really paying attention to LSU.

At what age did you really become an LSU fan?

Geaux Tigers!

You’ll be amazed by what they remember from these early memories later in life.

(You’ll also be shocked by things they don’t remember that you paid a boatload for…)

Good job giving them things they enjoyed enough to draw and share.

You gotta post those pictures, man.

Nobody in my family went to LSU until me. Now, I've indoctrinated the whole bunch.

I still remember my dad yelling at me to stop blocking the TV and go get him another beer like it was just yesterday.

Brings a tear to my eye.

Yeah, that's about right. I was 8 when Keiland broke the pistol wide. I will never forget it.

I remember being 6-7 ish and riding around with my now late father as he listened to lsu games on the radio. Core memory that I'll always cherish.

I suppose that's when a tiger fan was made.

In the mid-1950s, I was between 4 and 5, living in DeRidder on Royal Street. My grandparents (Lee and Laura Faulkner) lived at 411 S. Division Street. On Saturday nights, we often would go over to their house and they would turn on the radio and listen to LSU games. My Dad and uncle (Bony) both graduated from LSU--I was born in 1949 when Dad was at LSU, so I may have heard LSU games in the womb. When Dad (Russ) was single, he majored in HPER and lived in one of the dorm rooms beneath Tiger Stadium. Growing up, we lived in Mobile and listened to the games on WWL in our car in the driveway. I remember both of us whooping and hollering in our car the night Billy Cannon ran the punt back. I never attended LSU but have been a Tiger ever since. (My Uncle E.G. (Blake) Blakewood was on the 1922 LSU football team).

My 10 year old came home bragging about making an interception in the recess football game at her school. She said the other team's QB was talking crap to her. After she picked off his pass, he gave him the "eyes on you" gesture. Proud moment.

all of my relatives are from deridder. Lots of them so probably know them. many were born in your era and I was about 15 years after however from shreveport . And a few were in tiger stadium dorms and my father played on the 58 team And we would gather by the console stereo listening to john ferguson calling the game if we lost we all cried as kids fast forward and just 10 years ago I can remember after a loss no one came in my office until wednesday I always took it hard These days I still hate losing but too old to take it too hard but still come in for games

I can still recall going to games like ‘08 Auburn, ‘05 Bama, ‘11 Florida, ‘05 Florida like they were yesterday with my dad. Those are some of the best memories I have in this world
