He played a lot. BK said that they were easing him into it & didn’t expect him to know all the routes either. I would say he’s clearly our #4 now with Zavion Thomas more of a utility guy.

Zavion Thomas is not a utility guy

Trey'dez green should have 5 set plays per game.

Sloan needs to get him the ball.
Zavion Thomas doesn't get the ball enough either.

I have been extremely disappointed in nuss' deep ball. Bad all yr.

I would like to know what the national average is on throws over 20 yards

Of players with over 30 deep throw attempts (Nuss has 51)

28 of 48 in Comp %

t18 of 48 in TD passes

36 of 48 in YPA

Have been two 2 games this year and last night sat much closer to the field. This kid looks the part as a true freshmen, physically freakish. Gotta find ways to keep getting him the ball especially down in the red zone

Hilton isn't going to happen at this point.

Even if he were 100% today, he's not going to be in "football shape" and isn't going to have great chemistry with Nuss.

Thomas runs like he’s never getting another catch

He’s been solid at WR

The WR's constantly win deep. Nussmeier cannot get them the ball.

The passes to Anderson and Daniels last night were on the money. Anderson dropped the one in the back of the end zone. It was full speed and not an easy catch, but the ball was perfectly where only he could get it.

The other to Daniels was the almost crazy one-handed catch. That was only necessary because the CB interfered and grabbed Daniels’ other hand well before the ball came down. The pass was there.

But you’ve made your opinions on Nuss plenty clear for everyone.

Hilton is as fast or faster at 6’ 190 lbs. Anderson is maybe 5-10 and Thomas is smaller than that and like 170 lns. That makes a difference when you ask a guy to win one on one battles on the outside.

But that doesn’t matter until he can get his arse back on the field.

Faster than Daniels and taller than Anderson. Better deep threat than either.

His yards per pass attempt is skewed because of the lack of run game and downfield threats. Plus factor in the competition.
Last night was a great example of beating a team by taking what they gave him. The stats weren’t sexy, but were effective.

He overthrew Lacy on one when he had two steps on the defender

His good is really good, but there is not really any in between.

On throws over 20yds: (18-51, 35% comp). Not going to cut it.

I hate to put the comparisons on... but in terms of Burrow and JD - does anybody have the numbers on downfield passing?

Also keep in mind, Burrow had Chase/Jefferson and JD had BTJ and Malik.....

No its not. its skewed because he has not been able to hit open WR's down the field consistently

Not trying to hijack the thread but has there been any talk of Jelani Watkins from camp or practices. Freshman with elite speed who could be used to take the top off. Maybe he is a bit of a project but don't recall seeing him on the field yet.

I mean technically he has multiple times. The majority of the time, he cannot.

Look we all understand he is not completing 60+ % of passes 40+ yards in the air, but not everyone is Jaden Daniels senior year.

Cut the kid some slack, he is winning games & there ain’t no Malik Nabors out there. He is only going to get better from here.
