LSU getting popped just before we got to next season is like your mom busting into the computer room back in the day just before you busted a nut to a porn you had downloading on Kazaa all day..

Like frick if we were going to get caught fine but at least could have busted one

I’ll see myself out now…

Sorry im not 80 like all daddy dale’s superfans who can’t wait to talk about how arse Wade is. fricking hell I’m excited but there’s a weird sadness in the back of my mind knowing this will likely be our last dance for a while. Maybe the crux of the team returns and the NOA cases drag out another year or two like they do at places that tell the ncaa to frick off. Of course we’re bending over like Ok St did so we’ll probably get fricked

All of this. Was just talking with a buddy, and it’s going to hurt even worse if we get knocked out this weekend because the draw is sort of favorable.

The other schools didn’t fire their coach. LSU gave the ncaa a wide open lane to make an example out of us. We had a decade of Johnny Jones and Trent Johnson and basically never did shite. We went to the tourney once every few years for 3 decades. It is foolish to think that we will get back to this level that Wade brought us.

You’re better than that

Based on recent events, parody works as well as parity IMHO.

Yep.

If Wade were still coaching we (and the experts) would be talking about LSU potentially making a run to the sweet 16. Iowa St. is essentially a worse version of LSU. And Wisconsin, while very good and getting the chance to play in their home state, is the "worst" 3 seed according to the predictive metrics. By quite a large margin. They are a team, like Providence, who played a ton of close games that could have gone either way. They also have a sneaky tough first round matchup against a Colgate team with experience (they pushed Arkansas for 30+ minutes in last year's tournament) and have the ability to bomb away from deep (2nd in the nation in 3 point FG%). You could argue that as a 6 seed this is the best potential draw this LSU team could have gotten.

But, alas, LSU's pompous AD felt that firing the HC 6 days before the tournament was absolutely necessary. He did not want his own school to potentially make a run and curry favor for the HC he was eventually going to fire. LSU simply couldn't afford to wait 2 weeks to fire Wade....after waiting 3 YEARS

I don't understand this thinking. We can have a great baseball and basketball program at the same time. They actually help each other, just like having a great women's program. It is great to see the PMAC packed with LSU fans cheering for multiple sports like basketball, both men's and women's and gymnastics.

Whether he knows it or not college baseball will never surpass basketball. There are like 15 fan bases that care about college baseball

Well, baws, here we are. It's been a long season. There has been negativity on this board all year, it's absolutely drained many people including myself from enjoying much of the season. Just when it feels like we may turn a corner...our coach is gone. tPear...tGeneral...our 3-mile running, odd shaped leader is no more. I won't get into all the details that have been plaguing this board, right or wrong or could have done something different blah blah blah...he's gone. The focus turns now to the players.

what you said there was true and a huge gut punch

Oh, there is ZERO DOUBT if/when/ever we get the basketball program rolling (and Wade was well on his way with that), it will dwarf baseball's interest at LSU. I've seen it before with Dale.

The baseball fans are very insecure for the reason you stated. I just think it's HILARIOUS how they claim it to be a "major sport", then you have a dozen threads screaming and bitching about how to watch the baseball game. As I like to remind them, the 2 major sports don't have that problem.

I'm only 52 and was a Dale super fan. I am as much or more of a fan of Wade though. I'm POSITIVE we were going to be a major player if Wade had stayed for 15+ years. Now just sadness and anger at the NCAA for their selective enforcement. And not too thrilled with our administration for not pissing on the weak assed NCAA. Woodward better have one hell of hire or he will live to regret not kicking the NCAA in the balls like he should have.

Appreciate you doing these breakdowns Butt. Don’t let the haters get ya down.

Hopefully these guys have a a few wins left in them for us to remember fondly while the ncaa is fricking us.

I pull for LSU baseball and come post-season I get very engaged, and yes - it is a major sport - HERE.

But college baseball just isn't in about 99% of the country - and I find it interesting how many LSU baseball fans don't really seem to realize this.

You constantly see posts here about why college baseball doesn't get more air time or promotion?.....they don't realize it's been tried and it's a regional sport. Only 18 schools average even 3000 fans per game attendance and that's paid not actual.

Nobody's watching...we are here and maybe 3 or 4 other places have close to our interest but not really any others on a consistent basis.

The oft use post here - it's women's basketball...nobody cares, is probably what they say about college baseball the few times it's brought up (if at all) on most other schools message boards. Women's hoops actually gets better attendance and ratings and it's really not even that close.
