A good freshman who couldn't beat out a god awful senior. I hope it's true, but based on history I'll only believe it when I see it.

You know that the passer rating can be manipulated by taking sacks as opposed to throwing the ball away or trying to make a play with the ball.

I believe Rob Johnson for the Buffalo Bills was called out for doing this to keep a good passer rating and making himself marketable to NFL teams.

Rob Johnson’s QB rating was 83.6 which isn’t good. Johnson was given multiple opportunities because he was an above avg athlete with a great arm not because of his passer rating. Look at the top rated passers in LSU history, are any of them bad QBs? The only time stats or facts are ignored is when someone is trying to knock Etling and Ogeron, it’s truly amazing that they just so happen to be the exception to every rule in history just for the sake of unwarranted criticism.

Madking let me break it down to you like this. You evaluate good QB play like a chump who don’t know sheep shite from shinola

No i evaluate QB play by production, not my personal hate like an ignorant child the way you do. Let’s be honest you’ve never played a down in your life and don’t have a clue.

More depressing reading posts from losers who never played. You all are not even giving Myles Brennan a chance

Kendal Briles was part of the Rape Denial culture at Baylor. But moral clarity doesn’t apply to you

This place has turned into a cesspool, you can’t even come here to talk football anymore. Even threads were people are having civil discussions about the actual sport and team most of us pull for the legions of moronic loser keyboard fans are sure to invade and spew their ignorant vomit all over the place. Of course the mistakes should be criticized but that’s not what these people do, nothing is good and mistakes are exaggerated into historically bad or the worst of all time. It’s a joke and admins need to do their job.

lsu main problem with QB play is its run first mentality so you shouldnt have to pass much, and if things go well that works out for us.

that said, we havent ever had any sort of respectable QB coaching that i can recall so every QB here had to go find his own coaching help outside of lsu if he wanted to get better.

they come here as great HS prospects and, with very very few exceptions, leave here not one bit better as far as improving in their positions.

no one anywhere ever says "lsu has a great QB coach that gets the most from prospects and gets the best from them".

I am sick of game managers. Etling can play Qb manager and have efficient enough numbers but he doesn’t go out and win big games on his own. I am tired of it. I wish we could have a playmaking qb.

I’ll take a qb who throws 4 or 5 tds even if that comes with 1 or 2 ints... over a guy who barely throws 1 TD a game and no ints.

Wait

Wait

Wait

You numbskulls have been bitching that LSU never throws to tight ends.

Which is it?

Do you know?

Do you watch football at all?

Did you join this board for the excellent soccer coverage?

But hey, let's bitch about it, because, you know, that's what you do. You trash your players incessantly

So he's tough. BFD. Andrew Hatch was tough too. Being tough while not being a threat to run or throw doesn't mean anything.

Quit with the he's tough crap. Yeah he's tough, and he still sucks.

And OP, Hornibrook is terrible, and Hurts sucks too. Their coaches are just better than ours.

What facts?

Our shitty 3rd down conversion rate b/c our qb can't complete a pass beyond the first down line, or would rather take a sack and punt than try to complete a first down?

You act as if LSU fans enjoy having a mediocre qb. He's not good. Most non retarded people know this. The coaches try to do the best they can, and hats off to them. I'd bet 90% of our passes are either deep throws or check downs. Maybe twice a game etling completes a pass in the 5-15 yard range. It's b/c he sucks as a thrower, so we rarely attempt them.

Those of you that defend etling as if he was a legit good qb are either related to him, sucked his dick, or are being paid to say so.
No one with a brain that has watched all of our games thinks he's good.

Georgia just won the SEC with a freshman. I sure as hell hope Brennan just wasn't given a fair chance, not that he couldn't beat out DE. I think in the past the coaching staff were too focused on the eye ball test instead of the results on the field. All you need in college is a smart QB with an accurate arm. The speedy athletes that can play QB are few and far between.
