Smart press release. The SEC and NCAA care much more about getting PCSA passed vs suing LSU and the plaintiffs yesterday. Referencing that by Rousse will lower the temperature a bit in Birmingham.

It’s a pretty blurred close line, I wouldn’t be suing a founding member institution if I wanted them to stay around. There are lots of avenues to try to get us to fall in line, suing is a nuclear option and puts kicking out/leaving from 0 to somewhere now above 0 chance.

If you think about it, LSU is maybe THE school to bring about the change. You really do have the perfect combination of needle movers at the school, in state government, and oh by the way, some really heavy hitters in congress with LSU ties. I like Rousse but he is wrong. Congress doesn't need to do shite.
The University Presidents, including Rousse, are playing with a stacked deck. They are more responsible than anybody for the dumpster fire that college football has become. They had the power to fix this years ago, and just like the NCAA, SEC, and whoever, they didn't because there was, and still are, wheelbarrows of cash rolling in.

Agree I don’t think the federal gov should be the ones making the rules here. This was on the ncaa they are the retards that drug this around and fricked it up. Then they tried to use the conferences to fix it and well Sankey fricked that up.

This is not the way. Cooler, unemotional heads need to prevail that focus on what’s in the long-term best interest of LSU football, the LSU athletic department, and the entire Louisiana State University. Whatever that may be. Being vindictive and wanting our “pound of flesh” to simply serve some short-term need to “feel good” is not how we should be acting.
Now, what you suggested very well may be the best thing to do to serve LSU’s best long-term interests. I honestly don’t have any idea. But whoever is in charge, whatever they do, has to be unemotional and with all consequences well thought out. This isn’t about Saturday. This isn’t about the 2026 LSU football team. These decisions are going to have decades long effects, and our leadership needs to be thinking that way.

National media wants to play semantics by saying LSU is rostering former NFL Players.

The best thing would be for the sec to not move forward.
The simple easy route is LSU and the sec both agreeing they fought this and the court rulings will be followed. Essentially hey our hands are tied the court says we have to do this.
The sec has a problem because they didn’t make a rule against pavia, chambliss or Bediko. They disagreed and didn’t like it but decided they would follow court orders. Now they are deciding they don’t like court orders and have attacked a member of the conference.
