With all due respect, it is THEIR name, image, and likeness being profited off of.

I agree, I think most seem to think there will be union or some such created and multi-year contracts will be created that will prevent the proliferation of transfers to at least some extent.

I don't believe he said he hoped for the worst for the kid. He said it would be karmic if the worst happened, and he's right. First off, does Michigan have the team to surround a high dollar QB? Also at the extra cost, you know he's gonna play him, probably before he's ready and every other DC is gonna scheme for that. I expect a disastrous season for them and I'll love it.

That’s not 30% of kids from P4 schools. That 30% includes all levels.

So in your mind you think a kid that’s been in the system is worse than bringing in a portal player that did throw 20 ints last year. Because that’s all they can afford now. Great point……..it amazes me how dumb some of this fan base truly is.

Michigan had 3 games where they threw for less than 100 yards and only 2 games where they threw for over 200 yards.

Michigan isn't losing anything by letting those 2 QBs walk.

Losing 2 QBs (that won't be playing) to the portal is not "chaos".

They’ve been rumored to bring in Miller Moss, who while a JAG, is WAY better than anything they had on the roster last year

Nobody in their right mind would turn that type of money away, especially for a school 30 minutes from their house.

People in their right mind and not totally focused on the here and now would consider otherwise. That money was a sign of total desperation. It was necessary to cover the offensive talent, coaching, and offensive system issues that Michigan presents.

You can be bought or you can succeed on your own. If someone came to me today and tried to buy me away from where I am by doubling my salary, I would probably politely tell them no chance. I’m part owner of my company and have stock. I have full control of my department and we are profitable and growing. If the situation you have or are going into is the better fit, why does a stack of cash change that? Maybe it does for some, but not for everyone. My family and I would have been just fine with $6 mil and a better opportunity. A wise and talented person can turn that into more than $12 mil pretty quickly.

If you leave for nothing more than a stack of cash, that cash had better be enough to fulfill the rest of your life, because it’s there to cover up issues that may end up dragging you down in the end. I consider it taking your eventual severance package up front.

Those same fans who praised him when he flipped to Michigan

This isn’t correct at all. I know a bunch on AnnArbhorites they were all pissed it took that much money for a kid to stay home. Everyone knew he wanted to leave. It’s as if he’s there against his will. It’s really bad for the kid,his father made a bad decision . One of thousands made this portal season. It’s broken

JJ McCarthy got a $22 million contract, is sitting the bench behind a retread and rumored to be trade bait.

I mean, he is on IR. for the season after getting knee surgery, so not like he's just "sitting the bench" due to not being able to take the starting role due to lack of performance.

It’s going to be all the current players on the roster that aren’t getting millions that will look for money or transfer. Got three year offensive/defensive linemen who are probably getting 200k or less that will not want to play.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you have followed them both closely.

Maybe the Les Miles offense there is the reason they suck?

I don't wish the worst for a kid that somebody offered a buttload of money to play football.

I don’t wish him ill personally, but it is best for the sport if this entire situation crashes and burns in spectacular fashion

This has nothing to do with NIL.

That is the justification.

If it was actually NIL then the market would’ve naturally paid him and the schools wouldn’t have had to arrange anything.

Underwood played us? Or did LSU delude itself about this kid? As soon as Michigan lost it's third game this season I knew he was never coming to BR . I had a Michigan alum actually tell me over the summer that there would be a concerted effort to put together serious money for this kid because he's that good. I did not want to believe him.

And the courts. That’s the biggest obstacle to fixing it. Courts are worried about “personal rights” and not competitive balance.
