NO, the players do not play for "ME" personally, they play for the university as a whole. So, they do not owe me anything

Of course. Everyone associated with any sport who derives any benefit from that association owes all of it to the fans. Not just the fans of a particular team, but fans of all the teams and the sport as a whole. Without the fans, there wouldn't be a sport, or at least not a major one. Fans fund (or cause to be funded) the whole operation. Fans buy the tickets, concessions and merchandise, and they are the only reason media bother to cover the sport, let alone pay billions to televise it live. They are the reason the schools award scholarships to players and give them a path to professional sports where they can make millions.

What players, coaches, etc. don't owe anything to the fans? Maybe the chess team.

wanna know how I know you have the mental capacity of a watermelon?

It was a poll, one in which i didn;t take a side. Yte you attributed a side to me and showed indignation at that choice you assigned to me.

I award you no points, and hopefully nobody will use your head at a picnic for snacks.

Doesn't change a thing. I am an alum of LSU and I still say they owe me nothing.

Does that change your opinion?

I mean considering you have never attended LSU.

No. By University I literally meant the legal entity that is LSU.

Though I think that players, in general, should want to keep their fans happy, that doesn't equal "owing" something to them--especially when everyone knows that LSU fans turn on players in a heartbeat.

not the fans per say but they owe LSU, their family and their maker. however, what does making a judgement error have to do with owing anybody anything?

If they can receive praise they should receive criticism. Or else, tell the fans to eff off when they cheer for you...

QUESTION: If you pay your money for a broadway play but the actors fail to show up or if they Do show, they put on a sub-standard performance. Do you have a right to demand a refund? If no refund, what happens to the broadway play if you and others dont' pay for more tickets and continue to go see the play? Why is this different?

Really, so the support from fans that drives the program, allows for the money, facilities, etc....all from the fans, means nothing?

Oh and again, having never attended LSU, why do you have such strong opinions on how alumnus and fans should behave?

The players owe LSU.

LSU, who is funding their college education and providing them with the best facilities, equipment, etc that money can buy.

I really wonder how much $$$ LSU puts out, per starter, over a 5 year period.

Full Tuition and Fees
Books
Tutoring and Academic Assistance
On Campus Apartment ( including electricity, water, trash )
Unlimited Food Plan
Full Medical Coverage
Dietary Supplements ( you'd be surprised how much stuff they take -- Muscle Milk, NO2 boosters, Creatine, etc )
New Uniforms Weekly
Helmets
Shoes - Dozens of pairs of cleats and tennis shoes
LSU Clothes ( sweats, shirts, jackets )
Travel Expenses and Lodging
Monthly Stipends
Weight Room, Whirlpools, Medical Facilities

I'm sure there is much more I'm forgetting, but I'd love to see an estimate per year.

the fans=taxpayers (for the most part) paying for their free education because of their football skills

at least they should respect that the state's money is giving them a chance to better themselves
