I’ve always wanted a “No Man’s Land” on our southern border (you know….where my peeps come from). A double walled line across the border, with mined interior and automatic sentry guns every 500 yards.

Completely different. I am in favor of brutally suppressing illegal activity of all sorts. But I do not believe executions should be televised. That is barbarism.

Simply viewing an execution is not barbaric. We had public hangings for most of the country's existence. Is your argument that America was barbaric for most of its existence?
Was it barbaric to publicly hang the people who murdered Lincoln? Or has the definition of barbarism been softened by modern society?
It's hard for me to equate the viewing of an execution to barbarism when I already consider the murder of our innocent soldiers to be barbaric. Those two are not on the same level.

Yes. Modernity has resulted in eliminating a lot of barbarism:
In Britain, and much of the world, they used to hang criminals and leave their bodies exposed for weeks as they rotted. Or impale their heads on pikes and display them at city gates. Barbarism…by today’s standards.

Pat Buchanan had a very similar plan as part of his presidential campaign. Should have been elected.
