Didn't she get fired for being a lesbo and sleeping with her players?

Van Chancellor started the decline

This was a joke of a hire that truly started the decline. Pokey had taken the team to what 5 straight Final Fours? All I know if we have any shot at building this program back up which I truly have my doubts about we have to fire Nikki and go after a young top flight coach. Lets face it money should not be an issue, hell we are paying Nikki what, $700k?

I am truly amazed by the fact that Nikki has not gotten it done. Is it lack of recruiting? Is she just not a good recruiter? Not a good X and O's coach? I sure thought she was a excellent hire. Hell most had her a shoe in for the Tennessee job.

I wouldn't say she is underappreciated by anyone. Any person with half a brain can see the success she had at LSU. Had she stayed I think we would have continued to see the Augustus/Fowles/Johnson type players come to LSU and the success would still be there. So no, not underappreciated; but she still had to go.

Pokey wasn't fired because she was a lesbian. She was fired because she used her position to score with players. Now, you have profs at LSU who have done that, but it doesn't seem to be a big deal.

That title would go to one Pat Henry. Pokey was plenty appreciated while at LSU.

True, but track is not a revenue sport. I think he was appreciated about right at LSU by fans and alumni.

As I recall, she resigned and left BR in one fell swoop if I'm not mistaken.

She did a good job, but LSU's roster was stacked for a women's team while she was at LSU. Sue Gunter recruited a lot of good players. She got Augustus who was the best women's basketball player to ever play at LSU. After she got the boot (which was before the tournament that year), Starkey (the assistant) took the team to the Final Four. Van Chancellor took the following year's team to the Final Four as well.

She took them to 3, Starkey took them to one, they took Van to the last one.

5 in 10 under Bertman in men's sports.

01-07 football had 3 Sugar Bowl wins (one for the title) plus a second NC in the Sugar Bowl venue. 4 wins in 7 years in New Orleans in the postseason is good enough or me (no ULL jokes please).

Not under appreciated. And maybe some don't think it's a big deal, but she still has to go to these young girls houses and visit their parents. Not sure how well that would go over knowing she had relations with players and she might be doing stuff with your child other than what she is paid to do.

She hooked up with players that were already out of school.
She never should have been fired it's one of the biggest screw ups ever by the LSU athletic department and administration
