Why is it too much to ask for you to provide an alternative. If our guy is so terrible then why can’t you name someone better?

Because it isn’t my fricking job, it’s Woodward’s.

Good. Don't watch or show up to the games. Doubt you even go to them.

So, according to your dumbass, we don't have a hitting coach or a single left handed pitcher. I hope you are trolling at this point.

You’re right it isn’t.

So why are you trying to act like it is when you can’t name a single college coach that’s better than Mainieri?

I agree. I’m rooting for him this year, always have, but there just seems to be something missing.

Not when Mainieri took over from Smoke Laval as head coach.

In Smoke's last season he only went 12-18 in the SEC and we didn't make the NCAA post-season.

The previous season, 2005, we were eliminated in our own regional by Rice, losing twice to the Owls.

In the 5 seasons Smoke was HC at LSU, we never won a single game in Omaha.

GTFOH with that "LSU was like Alabama in football when Mainieri took over." It's bullshite.
Yes, Smoke sucked and was rightfully shitcanned.

But LSU Baseball still had the best facilities, fan base and support in the nation. Thankfully, Smoke didn’t completely kill our brand.

Despite the Smoke fiasco, LSU was still a top, if not the top baseball program in the nation. It’s the reason Paul was able to recruit great talent when he first got here.

I appreciate what he’s done here, but I think he has underperformed in the past several years. Oregon State and Vanderbilt are better programs now and I find that unacceptable.

Skip agreed with his recruiting method, recruit the best, not RH or LH
IIRC it was the same talk show (very early last season) that Skip said CPM was doing the right thing by starting Hughes

Take that FWIW since the Rant knows better than college level Hall of Fame coaches

He even admitted he took a “victory lap” season after they won the 2009 title

Wait, I thought he blames everyone but himself?

Look, he hasn’t won enough. It’s true; he knows it. But quit with the character assassination. He is a kind man. Complain about the lack of national championships if you like; fire him if we must; but stop inventing character flaws.

Lol, we did not have the best facilities when PM showed up. We didnt have better facilities until 2009, and even then, they werent the best. Fan support had dropped to an all time low too. Yes it was still good compared to the rest of the nation, but alot quit attending and actual attendance dropped a good bit

PM reminds me more of Dinardo. He ran off all the good coaches in favor of subservient young ones or former players. Take the Coach O approach and surround yourself with some of the best coaches, let them grow and coach, and watch the success. It ain’t all about the head guy. True leadership takes all the blame when things go wrong, and gives all the credit when things go right!

I hated to see Coach Miles get fired, but I thought it was the right decision. He never adapted into today's game and if Coach Manieri doesn't adapt soon, he will deserve to be fired too.
