I think if anyone takes what a bunch of middle aged men on tRant say seriously then they need a reality check. This website is a cesspool and not reflective of the majority of the fanbase

While I agree the negative comments get out of hand, some of them are accurate and perhaps even justified. Yes, I know many of the players are not even 21 years old, but their shite antics on the field (100s of examples of gloating after making a tackle 25 years down field, etc) and sometimes lackadaisical efforts on the field, and the failure of drug tests, etc etc etc are ridiculously hard to ignore.

Also, they are all now professional athletes; they are getting paid handsomely, not to mention receiving a free education at an outstanding university.

You are also only pointing out the negatives. Many players are treated like heroes and are praised nonstop. It's part of the popularity of the sport. Let's also not forget they eat very very well, they receive preferential treatment via tutors and course scheduling, etc.

Lastly, the 'star' you refer to in your post who couldn't wait to leave BR ... really? As Leslie Miles said, he has no chest. If he was truly a star, then he is in the NFL now making millions.

While I have never once booed a player (only the refs), college football is now a professional league; the players need to learn to take the good with the bad.

Sorry, but I don't feel sorry for this 'star' one bit. He sounds like a spoiled brat.

Where does this player think he's going to go where fans won't be critical if he plays bad? And nowadays players trash talk each other way worse than anything here. Can he not handle that either?

I'd like to add to your sentiment. Many players get chronic injuries and never reach their potential. I briefly new a defensive lineman from one of Saban's championship teams. Never quite made the impact I thought he would. Come to find out, he had knee surgery every off season, that was the reason. Never a word in the media. Many times these things are kept from the prying eyes of the public. Yes, we see the players that have to be helped off the field and know they are hurt. I believe a lot more are hurt and we never find out. Remember Justin Vincent?
In summary, they deserve all the support we can give them. In a very real way they are all champions.
