Please just read this article before condemning Casey

This piece from the Portland Tribune examines the Heimlich situation in depth and shows that it was anything but cut and dry.

I implore you to take a few minutes and read the whole thing as short attention spans are the bane of true understanding, but if you absolutely need cliffs:
1. It’s very likely LH didn’t do anything and this was a sick custody battle ploy coupled with an overzealous prosecutor and shoddy legal advice.
2. Even if he did, he was also a kid at the time and received two years of intensive treatment with an impartial mental health professional who declared him to be virtually zero risk
3. Since he was himself a kid, the record of his plea deal was sealed and should never have been made public; it only became known through a clerical error and a questionable journalistic decision by a Duck-friendly paper
4. Casey and the OSU team were aware of the situation and after considering all available information gave the young man a chance. It has now been 9 years since the plea deal and he has had no further legal troubles, so far vindicating said decision.

I thought LH failed to do something

He didn’t fail to do anything required…..that was thrown out by the court and the arrest was expunged….it was a local/state error and that cost him millions…..I’d have sued if I were him.

Yea the mlb who has all the resources imaginable and often has had no problem bringing criminals in if they can play won’t even sniff the guy.
The optics are shite for LSU especially considering the rape stuff floating around.
Casey is old washed up and has this pedo gate shite attached to him

WTF they won’t even let their best players of all time into the hall of fame because of HGH

Multiple mlb players have been allowed on teams after domestic violence charges.
The hall is a different matter but they have no problem bringing someone in if they can ball and they refused to touch him twice.

The MLB could 100% know he was innocent, and they still wouldn’t have taken him

This. The MLB made a cold hard PR decision based on their knowledge of mass outrage

“Luke could plead not guilty but face the possibility of 40 weeks placement in a juvenile institution if found guilty of the charges.”
That’s IT?!
F him. Guy is a convicted child molester. And F Pat Casey for coddling a child molester.

You have issues. Casey shouldn't be any where near LSU.

MLB won’t take a chance on an incredible LHP with 3-4 different pitches and a 95+ mph fb...he plead to being a pedo. You can’t plea to get a lighter punishment and then after paying for your crime say “I didn’t do it”

This is all the same mental gymnastics OSU fans did at the time. It was horrid then and it’s horrid now.

Just say you are fine with pedophilia. It's ok. You have issues.

Do people not realize that if you have to go through all of that just to possibly prove that maybe he didn’t know something pretty major about a player that he recruited and coached then maybe that is enough to at least think twice before you hire him at a school already dealing with sexual misconduct issues?

Not saying I want him, but he does have a more recent NC than any candidate other than Corbin (if he is even a realistic candidate) and that was recently in 2018. But yeah, not sure why we would want to try and drag someone out of retirement.

Yep, they are mental. Pretty sad.

That’s IT?!
Also, if you read the article, since Heimlich was a teen it was his parents that urged him to take the plea because they also didn’t want their granddaughter going through this
The parents said it’s the biggest regret of their lives. They said they knew like was innocent, but the lawyer got a great plea, and this kept their son out of jail and their granddaughter out of the torment of being manipulated by an evil woman(in their words)
