I saw that and it was interesting. As was said in the story - it’s all pattern recognition.

Saturday night... ChatGPT VS Gemini.

Ok Gemini. What offense do you think ChatGPT will run against us, and what defense should we use to stop it.

We need to tell the coaches they should start watching game film, they may be able to pick something up.

Can we get AI to run the NCAA and SEC? It could not be worse!

The Hudl program for HS makes things sooooo much faster. I went from VHS to DVD to Hudl in my coaching days.

Manually putting the data in took forever, but you ended up with very detailed breakdowns by formation and down and distance. Now cameras calculate everything for you. They keep track of players who get the ball, and the yardage gained/lost, down and distance, pass / run, and chunk plays.

It will generate a phenomenal report. Making calls based off of these tendencies is how most teams operate.

I haven't heard of any AI finding tells, but it was never uncommon to look at what foot the qb had up, the guards stance in a run vs pass, and if they WR's sprinted a little harder to get lined up on a pass. But, good Lord it can do everything else so why not?

I wonder if coaches are running game film through AI systems to see if there is any correlations between player movement and plays ran

You don’t have to wonder with this one. It’s happening. I’d be livid if my team wasn’t already doing this. It not only helps your own team diagnose any tells or patterns, it helps you diagnose tells in game of your opponent.
