Florida unquestionably handled this whole thing poorly.

if the cocktail party is suppose to be the UGA home game this year then i guess you could move to athens.

It is a Georgia home game. Still not sure that would work out. The city of Jacksonville would be livid.

Part of being the boss means you make tough decisions. One way or the other Sankey is going to piss someone off

It won't be the Georgia/Florida game, IMO.

Like another poster mentioned, that game is the 3:30 CBS slot before the season starts every year. It has a TV slot already, and it's in a neutral-site stadium.

That would be very, very hard to move.

Moving LSU/Arkansas up two weeks is a lot more likely, I think.

They saw an opportunity to use this to their [percieved] advantage and took it. They didn't consider all the variables, nor did they consider the unknowns yet to come.

I'm all for driving the point home that they made this much more about UF and LSU by having anyone and everyone that now has something to lose or gain involved. At least for now, that's easy for LSU; we have the luxury of doing nothing.

For example, insist on having S Alabama's AD involved in all discussions pertaining to this. It's UF's actions that resulted in them being affected. I would guess that a Foley and/or Sankey would be a little aggravated at having to deal with an FCS on a peer basis. Again, just to drive the point home.

Why should LSU rearrange their schedule when Florida was the one who refused to play us today?

Florida can play us on our bye week Oct 29. Florida can juggle their own schedule for the rest of their games. LSU should not.

LSU and Florida will both be favored in their next two games, I would imagine.

Will be hard to wait until November 5th to make a decision on this.

I would think there will be a decision made this week.

Really like the idea. Hopefully reasonable minds could do this.

Yep, that'll do it. Deal from a position of weakness. That will certainly facilitate the white board session.

You don't have to be nasty, just be strong. Our position is we want a FL forfeit due to ...... That is the starting position period. Having a reasonable mind has nothing to do with it. Now, if Sanky states up front that forfeiture is off the table, we take a position of "why". Then work from there.

Because I doubt there is a solution on Florida's side as feasible as this one.

Because that is the reality of the situation we are in. The schedule in some way will be altered. The pressure to make this game happen is rising.

It will be, correct. The game will be played.

And our schedule can be re-worked easier than theirs to make this game happen. That's the ultimate goal.

You can shut the frick up, too then.

It doesn't matter how eloquently you or Larry post--if at the end of the day, all you are saying is "Florida forfeits or nothing," then your opinion cannot be taken seriously. It's fantasy, will never happen, and therefore, I cannot abide it, nor respect it. Suggest a reasonable solution or shut the frick up. Forfeiture is not reasonable.

Someone has to be the loser in all this. It might as well be them.

Can you imagine the negative PR we'd get?

Florida wants to play November 19th or maybe even work something out so LSU plays a game on October 29th. But LSU refuses and just wants Florida to forfeit.

We'd look like idiots. It could tarnish our brand. It won't be considered.

The game will be played, most likely. If it's not, it won't be a win or loss for either team.

I personally love the idea in the OP, but I'm guessing Arkansas isn't very willing to help us out.

You can't make a persuasive point, you are losing the argument so you resort to cursing out a lifelong Tiger fan who is making his point respectfully like a man. You are a lightweight. Auto ignore. Like fricking Rex. Not worth the effort.

Again, I agree.

But the likelihood of it being that game is extremely unlikely. I honestly think the scenario of moving the LSU/Arkansas game is a lot more likely. And honestly, it wouldn't be too bad of a situation for LSU.

They'd likely try to fight it, no question.

However, the biggest thing I got out of Sankey's interview today on CBS was his "togetherness" and "family" mindset.

He gave subtle hints that this would be a collective effort by the SEC, which means a collective effort of ALL of the schools.

I'm not saying this scenario will occur, or that it is the best rescheduling option. However, I'm saying it's a pretty decent option if you can get everyone you need to on board.
