If we were dealing with adults in Florida the game would have been played this weekend :

Agreed, but we can't harp on that now.

I'd be okay with trying to go the forfeit route if we end up not being able to play the game, and miss out on the SEC Championship by a half game in the standings.

I suppose Alleva hated your idea. Or more likely, no one who matters thought of it.

...and the legend of TD grows. Murderers caught. Now schedules solved.

Interesting. After all the anger aimed at Larry and me for suggesting it.
Sincerely-No offense intended, don't misconstrue my tone-but all I tried to do throughout this thread is explain that despite perfectly logical and creative solutions, you are severely overestimating any of our league "partner's" desire to do anything on our behalf. There is a reason that older posters had a more cynical view of how your very sensible suggestion would be met. Decades of watching LSU get the short straw every single time there is a decision to be made. File this experience away and remember it the next time The League is earnestly explaining why some decision vital to LSU "has" to work out against us "for the good of the league". All the more reason Joe needs to pt his foot down, and all the more reason we should hope the SEC continues to squirm over this. I do applaud your efforts.

This may be the most reasonable solution I've seen.
Or just have the Florida Chickens forfeit.

Indeed. No forfeit was ever more richly earned.
There is no reason to screw up everybody's season for UForfeit.
Let them lie in the bed they made.

I would be shocked if Arkansas gave up a bye week before the flordia and lsu games after playing a$m, Bama, ole miss, and auburn

They won't and they shouldn't. Not your problem.

I've been obviously hearing a lot of people scream for the SEC to declare a forfeit for UF. And I'm all for it. I think they deserve it. But to be realistic, can this actually happen? I would think a for a forfeit to be declared, Florida would have had to refuse to play a game that was scheduled. But technically, the SEC Commissioner postponed the game, thus removing the obligation from both LSU and Florida.

Absolutely. But ONLY if it were the final option available. The most likely scenario where it would be the final option available, would be if UForfeit were poised to go to the SEC Championship over Tennessee, having lost the head to head (after years of defeats) and unreasonably refusing LSU's eminently reasonable demands to play the game. Only if the legitimacy of the SEC Champion were in doubt, would it escalate to this nuclear option.

LSU and Arkansas have the same bye week. Move LSU @ Arkansas up to October 29th.
I will be pissed for my own selfish reasons.
I'm knocking Fayetteville off of my SEC roadtrip list this year. Already booked the hotel room. It is non-refundable, non-transferable.

There is no way the League office can make the gators forfeit now. The decision to postpone the game was signed off on by the League last Thursday, so that option is off the table. How can the League sue a school when it agreed with the decision in the first place? But then, according to the League's by laws, it can not force LSU to give up Nov. 19th as a home game, either. Point, match to Fla in the big picture, either way.

Well, I'm only going the forfeit route if we've tried everything to play the game, and we finish 6-1, a half game out of winning the West.
I still think it's asinine to demand a forfeit instead of even trying to play the game.
