How much less could you care? I have no idea of your level of caring based on the information that you provided.

I actually think it’d be cool for it to be somewhere new like that. Always a rowdy atmosphere in those situations. Fleck has done a great job this season and they deserve it too.

I don’t see ESPN moving off the #1 vs #2 Game of the Century pt 2 though

Same could be said for Alabama at this point of THIS season.

apples and oranges.

Bama has won many SEC and national championships and has elite recruiting every year. They've proven it over the past decade.

So I think it's fair for everyone to assume that Bama is an elite team this year too, regardless of who they've beaten. And, by the way, it's just a function of their schedule, since they play LSU and Auburn in November.

Same goes for Clemson.

No, it's apples to apples since we were using the schedule of THIS season up until THIS point (well, a point in two weeks) to say Minnesota hasn't beaten anyone, then you'd have to say the same about Bama.

Do I think Minnesota is as good as Alabama this season? No, not in the least. Do I think Minnesota beats Penn St. in two weeks? No, not really. Would Minnesota be way down at #13 if the school name on the uniform was Michigan, Ohio St., or Penn St. with the same schedule and same results? Absolutely not.

Bama is ranked where they are at this point on name and past success, rather than what they have done this season (besides stay unbeaten).

They understand that to do anything up there they have to travel from the airport to the Igloo that they are using for a Hotel by Dogsled. Further, they have always had trouble keeping polar bears off the field.....

I agree with that, and the same applies to Clemson. It's the way it works - those teams have proven it in the past, continue to recruit the best players, so the nation gives them the benefit of the doubt. It's logical and rational, so I don't have much of a problem with it.

Why isn't Baylor or SMU in the top 5? Same reasons.

P.J. Fleck wants Gameday to skip LSU/bama by BeastTigers10

On College Gameday, Rece Davis mentioned how Minnesota is lobbying to get Gameday there and Kirk asked “when is that game”? Rece said November 9. Kirk laughed it off and said “yeah right, See you in Tuscaloosa”. The whole panel laughed lol.

Kudos to Minnesota for an outstanding year to this point, but to say they should get it over a "perennial" game of the year/century, with this year being 1 v.2, I dont think so. This game gets Gameday every year bc it is a Top 3 game of the season, every season.

Its about ratings... Are u more excited to see Bama's fanbase and campus shots, Corso's pick, Desmond's individual storylines and interviews and Reece fawning over his alma mater or would u like to see MINNESOTA "intriguing" story with Penn State and fans in a likely wintery situation braving the cold with little to no enthusiasm?... Cant even name 1 player on either team.

Herbie let u know where he will be sending Gameday on Nov. 9th as he is the "breadwinner" of that program now.

I have no problem with Gameday going to Minnesota.

Let's mix it up this year. 2:30 kick and no Gameday? Love it. Geaux Gophers and

I’d be okay with this. A little less hype around this game might be good.

The new "Minnesota Miracle Man" just needs to keep winning. The rest will take care of itself.

Name 1 player...? Do you even Casey O'Brien, bro? Kid beat cancer 4 times & played in a Big 10 conference game.

To the poster who asked if he's "living under a rock" re: not knowing what #1 + #2 are up to (ironically, a football fan, who must be living under a rock to NOT know about Casey O'Brien):
Fleck would be FIRED by any competent AD had he said anything else. He's a HC in the Big 10, not the SEC. He has 0 business or TIME to watch any team not in his conference or on his set schedule. Should Minnesota someone win the Big 10 & earn a CFP spot = THEN he can spend some time looking into that opponent, like the current #1 or #2 in the SEC.

We complain that people should have to pass a competency test to breed children. Well, Chicken should make posters pass a competency test to earn the privilege to post on here.

Not a bad pitch. I don't think it will work, but good effort.

I really don't have a problem with this, I think game they should Go to different places with interesting games that don't necessarily have to be the largest match up in the country. I think all fan bases should have the experience of having game day at their campus

I've lived in Minnesota - it sucks and no one cares about the Gophers. Gameday doesn't care about your 92nd SoS much less to be on site for your game when Penn St blows you out and 100s of your fans are there to see it.

Not quite, but nearly. Hasn't helped LSU any.

Is there any data to suggest that the show's weekly ratings are affected by location?

Going to have a local bias for this on this message board when you say "u."

I can assure you that fans of an undefeated team that has never hosted GameDay will show up and be enthusiastic even in wintry weather. Look at the crowd this past weekend with two small schools from two states with small populations.

And, after all, it'll be early November in a place where they are used to harsh winters, which really doesn't hit until deeper into the season. It's not like southern areas that have to completely shut down cities when there is a threat of a deep freeze.

So, this point is invalid.

It'll probably be in Tuscaloosa, but you folks are poo-pooing Minnesota and freaking out about the mere thought that GameDay might choose someplace else.

I like this idea. As much as I love waking up and seeing LSU and Alabama being the main event every year there are other teams out there playing tough games. #5 vs #13 sounds like a good idea for gameday.

I agree with him. Spread the wealth. It would more than likely be GD’s first visit to Minnesota

Do people really still care where game day goes each week?

I don’t think I’ve watched at all in the last 6 or 7 years.

Might have already been mentioned but what about a split Gameday for this one?

Penn St - Minnesota: Fowler, Corso, Herbstreit, Rinaldi. Fowler would be perfect bc him and Herb will be calling the game and adds good nostalgia to the set

LSU - Bama: Rece, Dez, Pollack, Wojcieowski. Let’s Pollack shine full time on set as I assume he’s next in line when Corso is done for good

Highly doubt they go this route but just a thought

I’d be ok with it.

Obviously, the LSU/Bama game is bigger. In fact, it’s bigger than college gameday. Neither LSU nor Bama need college gameday to know this is a big game.

PJ Fleck and Minnesota do need that.
