So UGA is conceding against Skenes by starting with a freshman that has pitched 17 innings.

Teams won't use this strategy during the postseason will they?

Ace game 2 and all lefties. This is going to either go very very good for us or very VERY bad. Crews must rise from the ashes like a Phoenix.

Sweep UGA, Vandy wins series vs Arkansas, UK takes 1 against Florida = LSU Outright SEC Regular Season Champions.

LSU takes 2/3 and Vandy sweeps Arkansas = LSU SEC West Champions.

I guess Georgia figures it worked for AUB and MSST so why not try it themselves. I can't say I blame them. Throwing a high-upside/lower depth chart arm in game 1 isn't a terrible idea.

This kid Jarvis Evans went 5.1 IP with 7 Ks only giving up 1 run against TEN 2 weekends ago too. Not sure what happened against MIS last weekend, went only 2.1 IP and didn't give up much, but short outing.

I like to see that their game 3 starter Liam Sullivan has an 8.69 ERA and nearly 2 WHIP in SEC starts.

Goldstein has been solid against SEC(3.5 ERA) and walks nobody. Obviously the biggest test of the weekend.

Something else I like.. Georgia leads the SEC with 75 hit batters from their pitchers. We lead the SEC in being hit by pitch with 113. I think we'll get the baserunners necessary.. will come down to the always crucial stat of how many runners we leave stranded.

Interesting factoid on Jarvis Evans - this is is his first SEC start, he has given up just 12 hits in 17.1 IP this season, however 9 of those 12 hits went for extra bases...7 of them home runs.

Partly explains why his ERA is 4.67 despite only 12 hits in 17.1 IP and 5 walks with 21 Ks.

Foley field plays incredibly small to the right side with a 314' RF foul pole...probably a big reason they are starting 3 lefties.

It's hard to do that in a regional because if you throw junk vs Skenes then you're in the loser bracket and you'll end up having to use your ace there vs someone else other than LSU.

In a Super Regional, I'm absolutely expecting whoever our opponent is (provided we win the regional of course) to pitch backwards.

Not in the regional at least and probably not in Omaha.

We’re gonna pitch Skenes game 2 most likely and you just don’t want to end up in the losers bracket pitch g an extra game before coming back to try and beat Floyd.

After that shot to RCF from Crews last night, he may be too.

Sullivan is as bad as anyone in our team so idk if this is true backwards pitching

He’s bounced between Saturday and Sunday this year and Evans has the best WHIP on the team

He has a 10.88 ERA in his last 5 starts.

UF 3.1 IP 6 ER
Arkansas 6 IP 4 ER
ole Miss 4 IP 4 ER
Tennessee 3.1 IP 3 ER
Missouri 4 IP 8 ER.

They will be unable to use this strategy in a regional format but the Supers are different if some coach has the balls

They can't.

In a regional and CWS you're going to play more than one team so it can't apply, although you may see a regional 2-seed try and get cute and throw its Saturday starter against the 3-seed.

In a super regional, you can't afford to punt on a game when 2 losses ends your season.
