exactly. He probably has the worst pitching mechanics I have seen at this level. He throws hard simply because he is a huge man and strictly an arm thrower. He also has not changed anything since last year, thank you Yeskie.

What living breathing moron wants to fire Jay? I guarantee you NOT ONE in authority at LSU have even considered it. Yall need to stop the sissy weak girl knee jerk reactions. It's ignorant and old and I'm sick of reading it.

What's interesting is that Evans, Schmitt, and Moore could all return next year and in all likelihood should be back.

Unless Schmidt and Evans transfer, they'll be back. Not eligible for the draft.

Moore will lose leverage if he does not go this season. So it will depend on where he is selected and if he thinks he can do better by returning.

Sheerin is probably the only one we'll lose to the draft, and that's not guaranteed, especially if we give him a chance to start.

I think he is more likely to return than Moore unless he is selected very high.

Rizzy is draft eligible but unless someone just likes his potential, he is not getting drafted very high and he still has leverage if he returns.

Guidry and Garcia lose leverage if they return, but I could see both returning, I don't know if they will attract a very high draft position.

Williams, Plog, and Lach should all be returning

Barring transfer, they should all be back.

If Pearson is your starting 3rd baseman next year expect the same as this year

having a bunch of 95 + mph pitchers doesn't mean anything if they can't control the fast ball

Guidry doesn't have to worry about leverage.

Garcia could be a guy who gets drafted in the 15th and goes, similar to Justin Loer or Fidel Ulloa. Ulloa was better at LSU though than either Loer or Garcia.

Nominee for dumbest post of the day, but any chance Curiel could return if he doesn’t go round 1?

I know there’s a bonus pool that complicates things, but slot value for 2nd rounders is $1-2.5Mil. Let’s say NIL can get him $500k, and he could try to tap into more power in year 3. Would still retain his leverage, make $500k, and hope to get into the first round and make $3-5Mil.

Foolish thought?

We need to get a whole lot more athletic with the lineup

Bide thought he was going to be catcher #1 this year, it seems that Serna has passed him on the depth chart. Surely, that is not written in stone, but I am sure both want to be THE guy...

Either one could cement themselves in that position if they could learn to catch consistently!

Personally I believe neither is locked at that position and I believe Jay will be looking in the portal for a great receiver and deal with what that guy brings offensively! The defense behind the plate has been FAR from acceptable at this level!

Could Arambide be moved to 1B next year? We need his power in the lineup, then move Braun to OF with all 3 current OFers gone.

I think we’re conflating passed balls and wild pitches. I agree they need to hold onto the ball when framing, but expecting them to smother everything in the dirt like Milazzo did isn’t realistic. Catching issues this year have mostly been on the pitchers.

I completely disagree.

I don’t believe any of those are cemented into their current positions.
Braun will likely be in the lineup somewhere.
I think Pearson can be replaced.

Serna and bide can’t both be the #1 guy.

But the pitch forks are out for Jay. The masses are ready to fire him. You’ll be squarely roasted
other than a few morons on here that get properly roasted when they’ve brought up firing Jay, no one in the real world is dumb enough to suggest that out loud.

ETA some of you give way too much credit to this site as a representation of the fanbase. Introverts come on here to rant and say retarded shite anonymously to make themselves feel better when things are going poorly but a lot of them don’t actually believe or wouldn’t say those things out loud

My original post here was lacking.... I do agree they will all most likely return. I just don't see a guaranteed starting position for any player on this year's roster for next season. This year we knew Curiel, Milam, and Brown were guaranteed starters.

It would not surprise me to see either Bide or Serna transfer if they don't get the guarantee and neither of them deserve the guarantee. Bide needs to be in the lineup for sure, but it may be a certified DH position.

I don't want him at 3B. Move him to 1B. Move Braun to OF. Serna and Bide can catch and DH. We need to get more athletic and defensively better and Pearson at 3B is not the answer.

I disagree...their focus should be on receiving first and stealing strike 2nd. I'm talking dropped 3rd strikes and passed balls not wild pitches.

A program like LSU should realistically be able to expect their pitchers to bury a breaking ball and have full confidence in the catcher to chest it up and keep it in front. I'm not saying it's easy, I'm saying that there are a lot of guys out there who can do it and hit .200 in the SEC! It's not a big ask!

With Sheerin being a redshirt, he wouldn’t be giving up his leverage to come back and vie to be a starter. He showed yesterday that he absolutely has the stuff. He could improve his stock if he can start and look like that consistently.

He just has to prove he can extend to at least the 5th regularly and I get why the staff didn’t throw that on him this year coming back off of injury.

Guidry is just fine when left in his role like yesterday. He’s a once through the order reliever/closer. That’s it. Use him that way and he will be effective. Start him or extend him and watch him implode.

If either party wants more, then he should move on, but I would keep him if he’s good with staying in that role.
