Batter called time out. Stadium didn’t reset the pitch clock because ump didn’t make the reset sign.

Umps never admit a mistake so we just had to take it up the shoot just like every other important call this weekend.

Batter called time out.

that's what I thought had occurred - I was not paying particular attention so I thought I must have been wrong.

I don't see how that one got by the challenge.

Yeah the hitter and the pitcher have a set amount of time to either get in the box or deliver the pitch. If they don’t do it in time then the batter gets a strike called or the pitcher gets a ball called as punishment.

I thought Jay was saying Hernandez called time before the pitch clock expired. But the batter stepped out as well.

Seemed like an easy opportunity for the umpires to say play on and not give a leadoff baserunner in a very close game on a grey area ruling.

Yeah the batter called time and when he stepped back in the box there were about 5 seconds left on the pitch clock so the pitcher stepped off the rubber.

Umpire expected the pitcher to pitch within 5 seconds for some reason.

This crew is probably the worst we've had this season

It was a confusing sequence. The ump never motioned a time out had been called.

I'm not sure the ump actually granted a time out when the batter stepped out.

SEC umps are pitiful. Their entire training by the SEC must be "Here's a baseball rule book. Read it."

Next time a batter calls time just ignore it and fire one right down the middle for a strike

the ump is not required to grant a timeout no matter who calls it

These umps probably would have rejected our pitcher if he did that.

All I know is that is pissed Kade off enough that he struck out the next 3 batters.

Well if that's the case the umpire got it right.

He's not required nor should he grant time to a catcher trying to bail out a pitcher on a PC violation..kinda defeats the whole purpose of a pitch clock.

Umps messed up many calls both ways. They’re just terrible.

If the batter steps out of box and pitcher steps off rubber the pitch clock is supposed to reset is the way i understand it. Both happened. That was the confusion.
