Honestly, it seems like some of these higher seeds are playing to lose with their pitching rotations.

DVH notoriously does not try to win this tournament.

Load mgt on pitching staff. They are a top 5 national seed even with a loss today.

Well they (Pigs) aren't really playing for anything...

They are a lock for a national seed and making all decisions based on that standing. Now, they be making the wrong decision in hindsight, but that's another topic,

Yeah, they are playing to get home and rest up. And not have their middle infield get beaned at the plate.
Which historically has worked out. But could set up nicely for us. Having Friday off would be huge!

Probably better for us to face SC’s #3, but the RPI boost from playing Arky again would be nice too! Would be fun to beat 3 national seeds 3 days in a row too!

I understand not trying to win the whole thing but I wouldn’t want to lose 2 and go home going into regionals. The earlier you pitch your ace then your Saturday guy the sooner they can rest.

May also be why Arkansas fricks up because he changes up the pitching rotation

Would it? Really only if you're trying to bring Jump and/or Holman for the weekend. And....frick that. Maybe an inning or 2 on what would have been their bullpen days, but those dudes both threw 100 pitches on only 4 days rest. I'd be just fine if they didn't step on a mound the rest of the time in Hoover.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hurd or Anderson start a game this weekend (I'm assuming Nate is going tomorrow) to see how they do, though. Not a whole lot of pressure, and if they do well, they can take that confidence into the regional.

I don’t think either one of them will pitch again. I would just rather play a maximum of five games instead of six this week, with the real tourney starting Friday. Four would be fine too.

Cocks up 4-3 bottom of the 7th but the pigs are about to break it wide open with bases loaded and no outs.

I had to mute the Ark fans whooting. Sounds like Freds sorority girls after a shot of schnapps.

Exactly. Winning these 2 games has really given Jay and Yeskie some freedom on how they want to balance the rest of the tournament with setting up the pitching for the regional. They can give guys chances in situations they normally wouldn't and see how they respond. Some may step up. They usually do for teams who win or even just stick around for most of the week.

I mean, I think Nate has to throw tomorrow just to stay sharp, but I'k to see what Hurd and Anderson could do starting games against good teams with really only the pressure they put on themselves to learn how to deal with. Not a lot of team or fan pressure at this point.

Couldn’t be more wrong.

Is that why last year DVH threw Smith & Hollan at us in the SEC tourney? Because he doesn’t try to win with 2 of his best arms?

I'm about to turn this shite off. I can't stand it anymore.

Sounds like it is the team doing it. They sound like a bunch of 12 year olds.

I do think they’re overthinking a bit. I wouldn’t want my ace going two weeks off the mound
