all those sound like a subtraction. Took away on field bullpen that made lsu unique.

This fricking guy. Everyone in this thread sounds like miserable people. Everyone was bitching about the bullpen on the field. It's gone now. Everyone bitching it doesn't look good. Who gives a shite what it looks like honestly. It's for a pitcher to warm up. You could remove seating in the outfield and put it there, then people will bitch. Man this place is the twilight zone sometimes.

the LSu Baseball instagram account posted some videos yesterday of fan fare stuff. You could see the wall in the background. Darker shade of green and ads were all in white. You can kinda of see it in this picture

Also, updated home bullpens pics

Did I not include "I'm sure it will look better than this..."?

How do you feel about reused bleachers, colorful ads on the outfield wall, and the fabric batter's eye? Because I don't know how anyone can say they trust LSU AD to not cheap out on "renovations/improvements"?

I'm sure its just an optical illusion, but it almost looks like the low part of the bleachers (left hand side of the pic) is too low where the pitchers hand would hit the metal decking.

Another half arse attempt by LSU. That looks horrible and I have seen travel ball fields with better bullpens than that.

I guess if you ignore the roof the built over the bullpen and below the bleachers

The only way to take the bullpen off the field without removing seats was putting it underneath the bleachers.

It is. The height of the outfield wall is ~10 feet. The bleachers come down at an angle and, at their lowest point, are 10 ft off the ground. Shaquille O'Neal's standing reach was 9'5", for reference

Certainly they are going to cover the chain link fence around the home bullpen?

Those pics don’t look too bad. Aside from redoing the bleachers and putting the pen right up against the fence, not much else you can do. There’s plenty of room and you can still see the field.

Why would they need to?

Don’t forget the mound will take away 10 inches of that

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they didn't build a bullpen that was too short for the pitchers to use

This is in no way better than what we had. They added luxury seats to make money with the disguise of getting off field bullpens, so we can be more like the Mississippi schools.

If you're gonna do it don't do it cheap.

We had nothing before so of course it's better. Jay wanted off-field bullpens. One would think he approved these plans. If he's good with it, I'm good with it.

At the end of the day, it's a bullpen. No need to overreact.

doing something different would require millions of dollars and a major construction project to rework the stadium without losing seating capacity. That requires funding. If someone wants to donate 10+ million dollars to re-do our stadium, I'm sure the program would be more than happy to oblige. But with revenue sharing coming to the players, ADs can't just allocate their budget towards unnecessary projects for non-revenue sports just because fans may not like the aesthetics of a bullpen that no one can see unless you're walking behind the right field bleachers. The bullpen is functional, off the field of play, and LSU didn't have to rework its seating to get it built. That accomplishes the goal and it serves its purpose.

It's a bullpen. What is looks like affects your viewing experience zero as it literally sits underneath the stadium. I've never head a player ever complain about the facilities they have at LSU, quite the opposite actually. So tell me, please, what is exactly your issue with the bullpen?

So wait, players sitting in the bullpen aren’t gonna be able to watch the game from the right field wall? They gotta look through the bleachers from the bullpen area? Why wouldn’t they have a bench up on the fence.
