Comparing the NFL to college is a “take” it’s absurd and not factual at all. In college he started every game his final 2 seasons, you didn’t watch him so you have no idea what you’re talking about and your “facts” are wrong. This thread has shown people like you don’t understand stats and how they actually translate to the field. You’d prefer Jayden Daniels to Tom Brady and that says it all. You can’t see it now because you’re in your feels but in a few years you’ll understand how stupid that is.

They would have resembled Chase, Jefferson, and Marshall with Burrow.

Not behind the offensive line that started the year. Burrow would have been running for his damn life. And the opportunities for Chase, Marshall and Jefferson wouldn't have been the same.

or the au or arky games

those get brought up daily.

Jayden certainly bounced back big time from auburn and had one of the best 3 game stretches for an LSU qb all time for florid ole miss and bama. (Tennessee wasn’t that bad in the first half btw in the first half he has more passing yards than hooker until their gifted end of half drive)

Could nuss recover like that? I don’t know maybe?

He still refuses to protect the ball like the coaches want him to though.

Jayden has his limitations. Maybe they get better maybe they don’t. I think they will but he has shown to take feedback from the coaches and implement it the next game (was more aggressive as soon as BK called him out)

I am curious why people have such a hard time with this. Do you think that Joe's first year was so much better than JD's? By which measurements?

That was Joe's first year starting. This past year was Daniels 4th year starting... So first yr Joe was as good as 4th yr JD.

The number one thing that changed 2018 Joe to 2019 Joe was we changed the offense... We are not changing the offense this year.

A was starting/playing significant minutes that season. He also finished the season improving.

B was in his 4th year of starting and he finished the season after 3 games inflated his stats with regression and and a whimper.

A every time.

Thank you for this post. I’ve been waiting for someone to point this out. Memory is a funny thing for many.

I am curious about what JD’s school schedule will look like compared to JB in his final year. Burrow was open that he was spending everyday watching film and working for multiple hours. With whatever grad program he did (that I would imagine was quite a bit of independent work), he seemed to have a ton of time to develop and work.

I’m not so certain that JD will have that time as an undergrad.

Which one of these QBs has 40+ starts? I’d like to know which one has hit their ceiling before I pick.

Why in hell do you think anyone peaks after 40 starts? Your logic tells me the NFL is getting mostly guys on the back end of their careers and that is unintelligent.

"But what do you know about 2023? This is simply lining two QBs stat lines and asking which is better"

You forgot to add one MAJOR stat!!

One was a FIRST (year) time starter.
The other is a FOUR year college starter.

Now I want you after next year post the numbers on the second year starter (2019) and post the 5th year college starter (2023).

I believe you will see the difference and that will be a fair comparison. Lol.

Yep the stats don’t show ability to read defenses and lack thereof

Problem was all the 7-man protection in 2018 not giving Joe much to read. Denbrock may not be perfect but Burrow would have thrown for at least 4K and 40 in the 2022 offense.

Burrow’s first year was in a run oriented offense. JD’s was in a QB friendly offense, so it’s not a fair comparison. Burrow was better than Daniels. But Daniels is still fairly good - and he might get a whole lot better.
