They all set the standard for terminology to establish their inside info.

Has Philly used those phrases yet?

Curious why you think he’s not involved in the hiring? Do you know or just what you’ve read ?

I know.

Woodward will at most have minimal involvement here. Thomas, the boosters, and presumably the new president will all be over him this time

If true, I certainly like that Thomas is given more weight than Woody but also just kinda surprising to hear.

Sure...alot of people feel a kind of way about each coach.

Sumrall has you feeling some kind of way.

It's all good.

So when is woddy being fired?
That’s literally his most important role at lsu and he’s not trusted to make the call.
Hes gotta be gone and they just haven’t announced it yet .

I wonder why they think they can negotiate any different deal for lane.
Easily gonna take a ridiculous contract for him to leave especially knowing sexton will milk both dry .
I don’t see a good scenario going for him.

That tells me that it’s not lane . Just like last time everyone thought it was Riley or fisher

Nah, different cases.

Fisher was on the line when Miles was due to be let go, when Allen’s pulled an audible and blew up the deal, extending Miles for a lame duck year. That really soured Fisher on us the following year.

Riley was also on the line, but then USC came calling- offering easy going west coast living, same money, lower expectations, and an easier schedule. Soft.

Lane was not seriously considered by us NOR Florida four years ago when BK and Napier were hired, as he was still seen as unproven and a little immature.

This is Lane’s time to shine. He’s an SEC guy, unafraid of the challenge, and takes all the stressors involved and makes light of them in press conferences and social media- signs of mental strength imo.

And in this climate of college football, LSU no longer has the advantage it once did over such schools as Ole Miss.

I would bet money this doesn't end up being true in the long run. Sure lower programs can be more competitive and we are seeing more parity. But in 20 years we will look back and most of the natties will have been won by the traditional powers. Every natty since this era started has still been won by an elite program.

Also they're out on a few guys such as Sumrall, because they want experience from a bigger school

That worked out great last go round.
I think I’d rather the Tulane or USF coach and give them a smaller salary with shorter years than get in a bidding war for Lane.

That’s what I’ve been saying. The history and tradition isn’t as important anymore. Scoreboard doesn’t care if Vandy hasn’t won anything, they still beat LSU.

Add in the fact that this job has political influence and that should make everyone nervous. This is NOT the sexy job it once was. Its got a lot going for it but it also has some concerns. Especially in this day and age of College Football. Our advantages in recruiting and resources were nullified by this NIL and Transfer Portal shite.

He will not be fired until the new president gets in and has a guy.
