Steele's magazine is good for one thing, and one thing only.

Nationally we are the hardest team to predict. I’ve heard some guys say rank us at 25….. but, they know we could win 10 games too. We just haven’t put it in the field consistently. Then we damn near beat Bama. Hopefully the structure helps us finish close games.

I’m glad LSU is being under estimated and over looked
It seems LSU always does better every year they are flying under the radar

Dude is senile. Someone didn't tell him about the transfer portal the past few years and how it works now in NCAA.

I remember buying and reading his mag every off season 10-20 years ago but I wouldn’t read now if it were beside the toilet while I was taking a shite and forgot my phone.

I really hope he is wrong, but he isn’t the only one predicting mediocre results for the Tigers this year. The Vegas O/U on wins is lower than it’s been in a long time and I think we will be disrespected in SEC media day poll.
I hope they are wrong and we temper expectations at the same time

Steele will point to some obscure comment
He must have noticed that several of LSU's SEC opponents have bye-week advantages before playing the Tigers.

Here’s a quarter, call someone who cares.

Yikes! Don't do that. Not only can you drop that phone in the toilet, but the phone can take a picture of you, in a compromised position, and disseminate it on social media!
Phil Steele's mag is a safer option.

That said 90% of the optimism is placed on total unknowns and the belief that an entirely new staff can turn shite around super quick with an unproven and depleted roster. I'm not a huge Steele fan but his comments aren't exactly a reach if you're thinking rationally.
I can't disagree here because we do have a lot of unknowns. But what I do know is that we have a lot of pieces in place that "if" this team can gel together, could turn out to be a very good year. What I do also know is that this defense will be extremely nasty and that is 1/3 right there. We shall see soon enough

In 2019 Phil Steele had LSU as #2 in the SEC West.
FFS as if that was some ridiculous prediction at the time given we played at Bama. Nevermind that that #2 team in the SEC West could (and in fact did twice in the 2010s) win the NC. No one predicted the greatest season ever expect maybe biased hacks who say the same thing every year

Could lsu finish last in the west? Maybe. I don’t think they will but this team has huge questions marks and non-existent depth at some positions. Also the divisions traditional bottom dwellers (state, OM, arky) are all trending up. I think the 2022 teams margin for error is going to be razor thin. When they don’t play to full potential, they’ll lose and they’ll get beaten badly by good teams.
This team is closer to what you saw on the field in the texas bowl than the 2019 team.

This team would run the texas bowl team off the field in the first quarter.
I may be wrong, but I predict them in the middle of the pack. 8 wins in all, somewhere in that neighborhood.

The strongest area of this team is coaching because of Kelley's career at ND. LSU doesn't have enough experience at key areas. Secondary is strongest group on the team with in coming transfers. The weakest link is O line. This will cause problems for offense moving the ball.

I don't think some of y'all realize that Kelly's goal isn't to turn LSU around as fast as possible and salvage next season. His goal is to build a sustainable winning program. When you do that, you tend to not have a great first year as you have to trim fat and take some Ls for the greater good of the future.
Could Kelly cut corners and make sacrifices to his plan to win 10 games next year? Probably. But, I don't think he will. He's got to tear down the clown show and rebuild the foundation. Otherwise, his tenure here will be a flash in the pan just like Orgeron's.

His model is outdated with the new portal rules. Cant trust him.

When the season draws closer and we see how many returning starters (ours and starters who transferred in) are #1 on the depth chart, I’ll revisit his 11.
I think it’ll be closer to 14-15.
I’m curious to see how Mississippi State does with the group they have returning.
