I’d bet Steele the worth of his shitty magazine on that take if he would. But he wouldn’t.

I can’t remember. What did he have us in 2019?
Posted on 6/18/22 at 11:57 pm to CP3LSU25
Nobody saw 2019 LSU coming.

Lots of people did. The moment he transferred from OSU there were many here that knew the SEC was fucccked…just didn’t know so was CFB.

Judging a team by it's returning starters is a typical and lazy fall back for writers who need to spit out content, without having to put in the deep research.
There is always turnover, and in the age of the portal, you have to look at the entire roster, rather than just saying that team "x" only returns however many starters.

Can’t wait for the hype train to pick up for A&M due to their best of all time recruiting class. I don’t see that class as having that much of an impact. this year. With freshmen, come freshmen mistakes, and other issues. They won’t have a good enough qb and lost some really good veteran playmakers. Auburn overrated, Ole Miss who knows, MSU could surprise, but they are always good for losing a couple of games they should win, and last but not least, LSU, who I put in there with everybody but Bama in the SEC this year. Think there will be a bunch of close games that could shake out a number of ways. What I’m looking forward to is LSU finally be led by a smart, detail oriented guy who knows how to build a team based on sound preparation, fundamentals, discipline, and game plans. Don’t have all the chess pieces this year, but there are enough weapons and playmakers to surprise a lot of people. I think the offense is going to be much better.

I don’t know why but Phil Steele has never liked LSU, I am pretty sure he said the same shite in 2019. He doesn’t know shite about LSU

I used to pay attention to him back when people used to buy magazines.

OK. Phil Steele has never been legitimate. In 2019 Phil Steele had LSU as #2 in the SEC West.
He is a fraud.

I would love to get some of that action. No way we finish last in the SECW>

LSU is a team that people love to hate and it shows in these cheesy publications.
Brian Kelly was a well respected head coach at Notre Dame and is the all time winningest coach at Notre Dame. The media never had a bad word for him.
Then LSU hired Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame and he is now ridiculed for some made up accent BS which I never understood.
Notre Dame hires a 1 year Defensive Coordinator with zero head coaching experience and the media and publications just heap praise on the guy. They disregard that in his 1 game of head coaching experience he lost to Okie Light in a bowl game and is 0-1 in his head coaching career.
Brian Kelly came to LSU and held on to LSU’s commitments and added Harold Perkins. He then hit the Portal and brought in the #6 overall class and he did this with a partial staff after being at LSU less than 2 months.
Apparently Phil Steel doesn’t think much of LSU’s coaching staff either as he has LSU doing very poorly in 2022.
Brian Kelly is going to do very well at LSU and all the ND lovers in the media can hate all they want. Fuk em.

He mentions lack of returning starters
He has always placed great importance in that within his formula. In the days of the transfer changes it will become increasingly less important.

He had LSU 2nd in the SEC West.
No mention of SEC West Championship
No mention of SEC Championship
No mention of CFP
No mention of National Championship
No mention of Joe Burrow for Heisman
No mention of LSU being 15-0
I want to give Good Ole Phil all the credit for his prognostications and predictions.

Right now, cases can be made in any direction. Picking a finishing position for any SEC West FB team in June is click bait. No one really knows anything about this team and how they will play. Common sense says they won’t finish last or first but predictions are rarely correct.
