How old is Jenkins?

Let's acknowledge:

This is someone who =

1) is GOOD. VERY GOOD
2) Knows the techniques O has been teaching already
3) Is available
4) Will ONLY be here for the rest of the season. He is NOT looking for a permanent gig

this is a GRAND SLAM to get a dude with all of that and is a LEGEND in the coaching world right now.

This is awesome

Maybe the board is just old, what was the price of gas last time he played?

How so

Because Pete Jenkins doesn't work for anyone but Pete Jenkins. He's a great DL coach but he will have more input than any other "fill in".

He is helping O and LSU for a few months. He isn't "boxing out" the DC

With the current state of gas, this analogy doesn't work anymore!

Dave wants you to be technique sound,” Coach Jenkins said. “He’s big on technique; he’s big on assignment. He’s a smart guy and as good as anyone overall I’ve been around. He’s invited me up to Wisconsin the last 3 years. He’s a sound football coach. Alignment and assignment, that’s important.”

Pete Jenkins knows coaches. When he worked for Saban, he said that Nick was the best organizer, coach, recruiter, and Head Coach that he had seen.

Maybe Pete should be head of the selection committee who is looking for the new Head Coach.

How old Jenkins is was my immediate reaction.

I thought he did an excellent job here before, surely think he can make it through four months.

Yeah, I believe Aranda has mentioned that Jenkins has influenced his coaching.

I'm a little worried about Ensminger though.

Bill Snyder at K State says "So what?"

I heard Jenkins being interviewed on the radio months ago. He was passionate. I got to my destination and sat in the car about 5 more minutes listening.

Pete will do fine and has a relationship with both Aranda and ED. Most of you guys under 40 will figure out that at 72 you don't lose your knowledge if your relatively healthful.

I used to work at Belle of BR with Clint James, he told me a story of one day before practice where he and a few players saw Coach Jenkins putting small pebbles in his sneakers(no socks), asked him "Coach, what ya doing?"..

Jenkins responds something like "I wanna be POed..I'm gonna be riding your asses all damn day"..his players would run through a brick wall for that man according to Clinton.

Coach Jenkins used to always wink or a give me a head nod when making eye contact during his daily lunchtime jog through the Quad..

Mid 1980s LSU greatness doesn't happen without him here.
