I don’t see relying on one of the best hitters in the country as a bad thing.
We have looked just as good as the top teams in the country. That is why I won’t count this team out until we start playing those top teams. You are just assuming we will have a big drop off and other teams won’t. I guess that’s your opinion I just find it more enjoyable to be optimistic until I’m proven otherwise

I can & will enjoy watching this team without thinking they can win a championship. Finally have a nice collection of position players bats to build on, and to watch Jaden hill every Friday will be a treat. Marceaux is going to be a stud too.

What other retuning players are going to mash in the SEC? You tell me
This team is full of new guys. There's not many returning guys to choose from. You act like there's just teams all over the SEC full of guys mashing the ball much less SEC pitching
I think Beloso is a very solid bat. He's way more patient at the plate. That's 5 guys in your starting 9 plus Dugas and Arnold will hit in the .275 range mixing in power. That's perfectly fine with the pitching staff we have. UF won it all with a team hitting .250

I just don’t understand why you are so sure that this isn’t a championship caliber team this early in the season.

Because most of us think it's a pretty good team. If we hated the team, that prick would be screaming about how they'd go to Omaha even if half the team broke their legs right before SEC play.

We’ve drummed a bottom tier Div 1 school and beat a bunch of JV teams. Best team ever is a bit of a stretch at this point even if it is a presumption.

That comparison isn’t close to apples to apples. They could have just used the first 9 games of last year...

I agree. Just also want to point out that UF lost to FAU last night.
FAU also beat ole miss and is ranked no.21 so that L is hardly anything to laugh about....

I don’t see how you can determine that this team isn’t championship material this early.
I mean at least wait until they start SEC play to determine.
I’m pretty sure nobody had the 2017 LSU team making the CWS finals when that team looked putrid many times during the year.

Lol, your right. all those Florida teams, I get mixed up often. Confused them with UCF...
Still tho; that FAU team is a pretty solid squad. The dude who took the bump wed at UF threw probably the best game of his life...

Wtf. We were a top 10 team going into that year and were expected in omaha.

Good post. You consistently make a lot of good comments. It is a stretch to say this is the best team ever assembled at LSU, though. Heck, we are still experimenting with the left side of the infield, and we aren't sure what is going on with Fontenot. I am excited to see the season play out, but might need to chill on any best ever stuff.

Thank you Sir. Championship, best team ever are bold statements and might be a stretch.
This is my reasoning. Hill could be top 1-5 pick. Marceaux is a better college pitcher than pro prospect. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have better stats than Hill. Fontenot will have to come back to form. I also think these freshmen pitchers will emerge more and more.
Thanks to covid we have some stud position players on campus. Have you ever seen a better hitter than Crews? A better 1B than Morgan? Doughty is a stud. Milazzo defense is awesome. Beloso, Arnold, Drost, Hampton. The talent on this team could be unmatched. Thank you covid.
