He’s going to need a lot of NIL money to recruit like Wade

Considering I had prepared myself for Andy Kennedy I’ll gladly take this.

Guy was fairly sought after

Lot of twitter comments saying this is a really good hire and Murray State folks definitely didn’t want him leaving FWIW

Well yeah, they went 31-5 and to the 2nd round this year!

The level of talent will almost certainly drop compared to what Wade was bringing in, but I hope McMahon recruits guys with specific skill sets that fit together. That was something Wade struggled with big time.

We were unbalanced every year, whether it was lacking shooting and shot creation this year or defending the prior three years.

Also some discipline would be refreshing. Tired of seeing so many mental mistakes each game. I hope we stop recruiting guys like Gaines and Fudge who have great athletic traits but no basketball IQ.

Give me more guys like Waters and Mays.

Very meh either way. A complete crap shoot. The whole key is if he can recruit like Wade.

LMFAO! Recruit like Wade?!?! Are you serious? Like, is he going to make "strong-arse offers"?

The whole key is if we can get local companies to pay athletes to come to LSU. Recruiting doesn’t mean close to what it used to these days

Well he had more success this year at Murray State than LSU had. They actually won the first round so...

Someone said at best be as good as Will Wade.. I say at worst he will be as good.

He’s a winner with an established process. Recruiting will make or break him. Just like anyone else. Welcome Matt look forward to meeting you soon

Agree with this otherwise we’d be getting a 65 yr old has been or a 24 yr old grad assistant

WW is an immature coach and never commanded respect which led to undisciplined play and individualism.

Yes good hire given the circumstances, but he got real real lucky with Morant (bad grades) fell into his lap, the kid wasn’t developed by Mcahon in 2 years , works with lesser talent well, but also played against lesser talent, can flat out coach, but with any sport in college it’s all about recruiting. That’s something, no matter how blatantly & carelessly WW got caught, but he could talk the talk and get players. Before everyone says he cheated duh and paid talent, they all do but in the end those players have to choose someone and a lot of them chose Wade. Good hire, good coach, just hope he’s able to recruit.
