I love when people spout shite like this.

I wonder what my camp would say about me.

Williams has been looking a bit more stiff as a runner this year. He's nothing flashy and he's not gonna run away from anyone. He's just that bruiser who can give Fournette/Guice a breather. If we ever had to rely on him primarily, I'd be worried

Based on what we saw last week, I think Guice is going to be the de facto #2 back from here on out, and Williams will be used as a short yardage and cleanup guy. He will also get a little run at FB, as well, so he is still a valuable part of the attack. I agree that he isn't really built to be a primary RB for a top SEC program, but he is very good in the role the staff is using him in.

First of all, who TF is Ben Love? Second, I guarantee you that LF wants the ball all day and all night ESPECIALLY in big situations.

His family may be worried, but he is a football player. If you're scared to get hurt, you don't need to be playing.

And judging by how LF has put DBs and LBs in the dirt, he's not scared.

No. He doesn't. At least not the first part. He's said as much. That he wants others getting theirs too. He knows what's at stake. In big situations, he understands. It's his ball.

He's a smart kid. He knew coming in sharing carries was important for him and even the team.

Ben Love is a bitch.

I think there has been a misunderstanding. Fournette's camp is worried about the effect of 30 carries on defenders. They don't want Fournette to mangle these college kids who aren't ready for his physicality.

I'm impressed by their compassion. Unfortunately, the demi-god knows only destruction and annihilation. The concept of compassion is foreign to him. Fournette will continue to mangle defenders until he reaches the endzone. Sucks for the rest of the country.

I'm assuming by "camp" you mean all the free loaders who are going to try to milk him dry when he goes pro. They could care less about him, just worried about their cash cow. I doubt his parents are as concerned with the number of carriers he gets. He's been playing like this his whole life.

Yep they would be complaining about not enough touches if he was only getting 12-15 per.

LF doesn't have those, fwiw.

Here's what happened:

Ben Love is using LF to get exposure.

He calls up a family member... doesn't matter who. Brings up Chubb and asks about LF and carries. They say something generic but it includes something like, "it's always in the back of your mind." So Ben runs to his nearest radio show and says LF's camp is worried.

frick him. frick the media. Non story.

Fournette put himself in the game against auburn when he got hurt. If anyone is leeching off of fournettes success its the shitty journalists who cover LSU. This thread is exactly why Love said what he said. Congrats on making a loser feel good about himself.

Since when does a running back complain about touching the ball too much? This whole world is turning into a bunch of pussies
ESPN is destroying everything that is wonderful about American sport. 24-hour cable news might be the worst thing that's ever happened to the level of discourse in this country. Politics, sports, doesn't matter.
Do you want to know what's wrong with the world? The problem is people who automatically believe everything they read and/or people who don't even bother to read what is actually written.

Nobody said that a running back is complaining about touching the ball too much. Nobody said that. There is no quote from Fournette complaining about touching the ball too much. There's no quote from Fournette at all.

Hell, there's not even a reference to a complaint by Fournette.

Moreover, there is no quote at all. There is not even a specific person mentioned as making the complaint.

People in this thread start assuming that it's from Fournette's parent. HOWEVER, there is no quote from Fournette's parents. There is no quote from anybody in Fournette's family.

There is not even a reference to Fournette's parents or family.

The only reference is to "Fournette's camp."

What the frick kind of a vague reference is that?

And then some people in this thread just accept that Fournette's parents are complaining, and they run with that bullshite.

For frick's sake . . .

Ben Love was on with Mascona yesterday and said he's hearing from inside the program that Fournett's people are starting to worry about him getting the ball so much and how it will affect his longevity as a RB. He's come up limping from a pile twice now and Chubb blowing out his leg is what sent them over the edge. They don't want him getting it 30 times a game so look for Guice and Williams to get more carries early so Fournette can be saved for the 4th quarter. I'm not sure how I feel about that honestly.

All the while, the coaching staff has had to watch him closely to keep him from checking himself back into games late....

I just don't understand the "too many carries argument". A terrible grusesome knee injury has as much chance of happening on carry 1 as carry 48. Your knee ligaments don't wear down as the game goes on. Now from Lsu's perspective, too many carries can render the Rb in affective as they would be tired

I'm sure they meant to say is that Miles needs to trust Harris more to throw the ball. The defenses get tougher as the season goes on. They can't rely on him all the time. Fournette has the help with the FB and OL making holes for him.. now he needs Harris to help him with the passing game. LSU with a complete passing game just makes Fournette more lethal (that can be reciprocal).

Just commenting on the idea of a running back (or his "camp") wanting less carries. Calm down chief.

He hasn't had 30 rushes in any game this year. He had 20 last week.
