How do you think PSU's competition compares to Indiana St's?

Definitely this. Should have done that after his Freshman season.

I would bet it's probably a combination of multiple things: A fresh start closer to home, improving his game, facing lesser competition, more consistent/everyday reps, less pressure, etc.

Expectations got to him. Baseball is a mental game and i think him not producing really did him in. Always had the physical tools. Glad he is doing well.

Wasn't he generally pretty good with the bat until he got into SEC play?

Kling damn near didn't get a hit in March of last year. It was bad. But from April 1st through the end of the season, he hit better than Bingham and Pearson. Going into the regionals, he was about .265 overall and .250 in SEC play. Larson was higher, and if I recall correctly, Kling and Brown were about the same. Again, I'm only talking about AFTER March. I'm going off my memory when we all arguing last season about who should be playing since we rotated 5 outfielders and only 1 of them could hit the ball.

He's playing at Penn St. against Big 10 competition and they haven't even played USC, UCLA ,or Oregon (who they don' play). Those former PAC 12 teams are the only ranked big 10 teams.

Pulling for him. He's actually cooled off a bit since league play started.

There is no question Kling is a talented baseball player.

At the same time, you cannot overstate how much better the SEC is than the Big 10.

He swung at too many sliders off the plate. SEC pitchers figured this out.

I stand corrected unless he was hitting over .400 prior to league play. I know for sure that the HRs have cooled. He shot out the gate with those and was leading the country for a bit. I really do hope he maintains a good season.

A good prop would be who goes before the other, he or Jared Jones
