I say win 3 games, get Crews right, get better defensively, get the bullpen work, and Coleman extended time and then go home.

If you win 3 games you're in the championship so you may as well try to win it at that point.

What you don't want to do is play 5 games in 5 days. If you start 1-1, you're better off losing than winning 3 straight.

It was an impressive run - they seemed to turn on the switch at sec tournament

This is the least important 2-3 games since February.

This year it is, but that isn’t always the case.

He was a nice guy. His last few years he did not recruit top players for LSU. He recruited top players that chose MLB over LSU. He also was unwilling to get rid of bad coaches.

Skip SEC Tournament results:

1991: 3-2 made it to championship game
1993: 4-1 made it to and won championship
1996: 1-2
1997: 3-1 made it to championship game
2000: 4-0 made it to and won championship

What do those years have in common?

Paul was a good coach...just petered out towards the end.

Seems like after his Dad died, he just lost it.

He also won it 6 times. Not sure why people argue this. The tournament had several formats. Skip was just as good as anyone at winning them.

How many Natty’s did he win???

Funny you ask this. How many active coaches have won a natty? And the ones that have…. How many of them have more than 1?

The point some are making is that Bertman won more CWS championships in years when he didn’t win the SEC tournament.

That would be nice but I would be fine with keeping Skenes and Floyd on their pitching schedule to get some good work to keep that consistent heading into the regional and getting coleman and Hurd more innings to build confidence and stamina in Coleman's case heading into the Regional and Supers. If that means we win the Tournament or win 2 games either way I'm good with it as long as we keep those guys on their schedule.

That’s not a valid point because Skip made deep runs to the tournament championship game in 4 of his 5 national championship seasons. And won it in 2 of those 4.

Unless we need a strong sec tournament to get a national seed, it’s ultimately meaningless if the goal is Omaha. Use it as a tool to work on the bill pen and a 3rd and 4th starter
