There’s times I feel like I want to be in the dugout, there’s times I’m thankful I’m not in the dugout,” Casey told Tinkle. “I had been a head coach for 31 years and when we got back from the World Series, there was a piece of me that just felt like I’m not sure I can do this at the same level with the same energy that I had done it before, and if I can’t, I’m not going to do it because that’s unfair to the players...

Just who we need leading our program from the low energy depths Paul has us in.

The selling point is his 3 national titles which could have easily been 4 had the tigers not ousted them in 2017.

He’s a legend in the game. Would be honestly
Better than any hire you could make. Could groom the next guy up as well.

What exactly should Casey have done? He recruited and coached a kid for 3 seasons before the story was uncovered. And to be fair, none of us know as much about the case as the coach does. The incident did not happen while the player was at OSU.

They sat the player for the postseason when the news of his past broke, and it likely cost them a national championship.

Yea I'm not sure what else people think he should have done. Also I think some research into this case is warranted.

Just a few tidbits:

A) The victim in question was a product of a broken marraige, a messy divorce, and a messy custody battle between the OSU kid's brother and his wife.

B) The wife is the one that initially reported the crime....not to the police, but to teh OSU kid's brother

C) The timeline has been changed 3 times on the incident. It also went from 1 incident, to 3 incidents, back to 1 incident.

D) The family has sided with the accused from day 1...including the grandparents of the victim.

E) The victim currently lives with the accused's brother and is doing great according to reports.

Now you tell me if this happened to your daughter would you let her continue to live with and be associated with the family of her molester who is supported by the whole family???? I have a lot of questions on this deal.

They did for the rest of that season.

Then it’s likely they learned more info about what happened, and let him play his last season.

Dude sat in the dugout didn't he?

And then the MLB completely passed over him after they did their due diligence. The details are completely he said/she said. The victim has people in her corner that swear it happened, the alleged assailant has people that say the opposite. The court said it happened.

This board hates Casey, O’Sullivan etc

I'll welcome Casey at the Box if he denounces that Pedo fricker they let pitch. He needs to blame the boosters or AD or someone and convince us he didn't want the POS on the team.

No I’d go Casey. He’s at least proven to be a championship coach

Casey is actually an indictment of the “think of what Bianco could do if he weren’t at little old ole miss!” crowd

shite. He's a great coach. The only thing is his age, 62 isn't really old man old and if he feels he wants to do it then hell yeah.

Ok, let's say for argument's sake that this didn't happen.

The court still sided with the victim and you're going to have a PR shitstorm considering the Title IX rape stuff we're already going through.

So at BEST the player was innocent and we still look bad. At worst, the player did it and we hire a guy that supported him.

Can we not have LSU fans defending a pedo? Like can we not do that on this board. LSU doesn’t and will never need shite like that around our program.

I love how this board has decided every coaching candidate falls under two classifications.

"My top choice" or "terrible"

He's a year younger than Paul, gonna be a hard sell for recruits, how long would he coach?

5 years?

Basically, and whoever is the assistant would eventually replace him.
