Even though all 3 QBs are young and none really wowed us in the spring game one, they are all a huge upgrade from Etling.

He couldnt even hit a short slant over the middle to save his life. All 3 of our QBs showed the ability to hit a lot of type of throws, and 2 of them are dual threat.

I'm more concerned with the decline of the running game at this point.

Myles looks pretty accurate at times and JM and LN dual threat can give a big chance to convert alot of 3rd downs that we couldnt with Myles. Reminds me of how Jalen Hurts always killed us with his legs in the end of games, making those few conversions with his feet to sustain drives.

Either way i think things for the passing game are on the up and defense will be solid this year.

I'm just glad we have a few guys with ability, arm strength, and can scramble. Watching Etling attempt to play QB was painful, not to hate on the guy he tried his best, he was just didnt have the skill set.

That’s weird. All 3 had an opportunity to beat him out last year and none could do it.

If this is true then why didn’t JM start over Etling? Every time I refresh this board it’s another poster trying to convince himself that we are ok at QB

Interesting take. McMillan was not even sniffing the field last year.

Despite losing 4 games last year, Brennan couldn't beat out Etling (at least as far as our coaching staff was concerned).

We have seen total underwhelming stuff from them all off season - how is it possible you are so confident were going to magically improve?

CEH was by far the most impressive player of the spring game IMO. But, you're worried about the running game and positive the passing game will improve even though you're saying you weren't impressed by any of the 3 QBs. Doesn't add up to me.

Terrible logic lol

Jamarcus Russell couldn’t beat out Marcus Randall either as a young player.

No, this is terrible logic. This only applies to LN and MB. JM is a fifth-year senior and couldn't beat out DE. But now all of a sudden he's so much better than etling.

Mettenberger couldn't beat Jefferson or Lee, and he turned out much better than them.

Yea its so dumb to wonder why a junior QB who has been no better than 3rd string on our depth chart his entire time at LSU (despite struggling, poor, underwhelming QB play ahead of him) is suddenly going to be our starting QB and bring us to the promised land.

People get obsessed with the passing game. We need to keep the offense moving, convert third downs and red zone opportunities.

Look at Baylor when in the Briles regime. Successful offense because they could always move it. Bama pretty much the same. More rushing than passing.

Dual threat might be a bad word around here but it creates an easy way to score in the red zone.

Mett couldn’t beat out Jefferson and Lee
Tua at Bama couldn’t beat out Hurts until the second half of the NC game.
Tim Tebow couldn’t beat out Chris Leak
Baker Mayfield couldn’t beat out whoever at a Texas Tech and transferred.

You had two things in play last year. One you had A returning starter who you knew exactly what you were going to get and some unproven guys. It’s tough to go away from the known. That’s just human nature. And two some guys just need to develop. Brennan needed and still needs weight. Narcisse needed to get further away from his knee injuries. McMillan just may have needed more time to become who he is.

Im really just referring to McMillan, not Brennan or Narcisse (I didn't expect them to be the guys last year over a returning starter.)

You are right about MB/LN, but I dont think you are right about this:

McMillan just may have needed more time to become who he is

With that being said, I hope one of the 3 prove every single one of us doubters wrong and wreck shite this year. It just seems very unrealistic given the circumstances.
