What does Kiffin have to downplay? It’s the media and SEC that hyped it all up.

Didn’t listen to Finebaum, but the SEC lawsuit filed today opens a whole new can of worms.

Specifically, Kiffin will now be required to give a deposition once discovery is granted. If LSU, or its head coach, are shown to have contacted these players while they were still in NFL camp and suggested they file a lawsuit seeking eligibility in state court in Louisiana, no less, whatever credibility is left is down the tubes.

If LSU drops this matter in the next day or two, my sense is, this will be the reason.

The thing you’re forgetting is the players didn’t sue the SEC. They sued the NCAA. The SEC got added by the players lawyers for saying they would basically cripple a school with penalties if you follow a court order.

No idea what construes "backing down". The man focuses on coaching his team the 48 hours leading to and through the game, and not this court case?

Shithead media will say he's "backed down" because he won't speak to it the next two days. Assholes, the lot of them.

You don’t think the exact same fact pattern exists for the guy who ended up at Texas or Chambliss or Pavia? They all just coordinated with attorneys on their own entirely independent of the school?

Kiffin doesn't have to do anything, these guys aren't playing Saturday. He can sit back and watch it burn.

If we don’t play the players or add them to the roster, will SEC drop it and it all be over?

I think having LSUs attorneys parade every other coach and Ad through there as well as all the crooked fricks at the sec and have them testify under oath about their recruiting practices would be far more damaging to everyone

You mean that dick jerk Gump sycophant? It may be entertaining to watch him crawfish when LSU starts kicking arse and taking names.

A. It won’t just be Kiffin having to give a deposition
B. What rule did he break giving advice when no rule was in place at that time?
C. It’s SEC bullying and hoping LSU backs down.

Back down from what exactly? Last I saw, Lane was with the team at practice today. There’s nothing to back down from.
