I still think something is going on keeping LSU in the Sugarbowl picture. If you look at our body of work, two loses on the road to #1 and #7 by a combined 15 points, great fanbase. Arkansas has two losses, one at home and the other gave up 60 plus points, poor economy, poor state, questionable traveling fanbase. Les Miles had a great way of politicing his case and there may be a reason no Capitol One or Cotton bowl announcement yet! Here's hoping someone is 'pouring some Sugar on me' tonight!!!!

Wins are more important than losses. And their win over us is better than any win we have. Plus they beat us head up. It's only right that they go. If it were the other way around and we got screwed, we'd all be pissed beyond belief. We had our chance at the Sugar and lost it.

btw, I'm not saying there's no chance they take us, I'm just saying that they shouldn't.

Hogs would bring more dollars into the area for a longer time, thats why they will be in the Sugar. LSU has ZERO chance, ZERO.

The Hogs beat us.

The BCS system is under enough pressure as it is.

If the BCS started to obviously manipulate the system and go outside the BCS rankings and start to invite people in a manner that does not follow the rules they have in place there would be a intense public outcry and the BCS would collapse.

No way Arkansas fans bring in more money than LSU would.

No p&g glasses, just the facts. LSU fans still buy up the hotel rooms, and spend alot more money leading up to game.

I agree with every point the poster stated, unfortunately, I think their hands are tied and "have" to choose Arkansas. (And they should due to the heads up win)

This is Arkansas' first ever BCS bowl, so their fanbase is hyped beyond belief. For LSU, this would be the 5th time in a 10 year stretch that we've been to the Sugar Bowl. Advantage: Ark

A very large portion of LSU season ticket holders are from the Baton Rouge and New Orleans Metropolitan area. They have their own lodging (home), their own local restaurants, did the French Quarter thing 25 years ago so nothing new there aside from a favorite choice of bar, etc. Arkansas fans would require a hotel room, walk Bourbon Street and "ooh and ah" at the sights, buy t shirts and souvenirs, eat at all the restaurants, and do typical New Orleans tourist stuff on top of what LSU fans would do in the French Quarter. Advantage: Arkansas

Sugar Bowl officials stated that they were going to choose the winner of the LSU/Ark game before the game. Advantage: Arkansas

LSU and Arkansas are both eligible for an at-large BCS invitation. There are no guarantees once the AQ teams are in. All at large teams have to meet the criteria which is 9+ wins and a top 12 BCS ranking. LSU has both. The Sugar Bowl can rightfully pick any team in the top 12 of the BCS and has two teams from the SEC that fit that criteria. They can rightfully choose LSU or Arkansas based on the BCS rules.

I don't think they will but they would certainly be within their right to choose LSU if they thought LSU was better for the Bowl for any reason.

Razorbacks, your statement is correct. Having said that, your fanbase has some very delusional fans as well. At least LSU has some recent hardware to back some of the delusion. As far as this subject is concerned, LSU doesn't deserve Sugar and won't be going to New Orleans.

This is the most ignorant post I've ever read on this site ever. Poor state? Poor economy? Do you know anything about Arkansas?? Sure there are parts of every state that don't have a thriving economoy especially in today's society. But to think that LSU will get a bid over Arkansas because of these two factors is just plain stupid. LSU had a good year and won a ton of close games, but as previously stated Arkansas has the heads up win over you guys so just accept the fact that you will be playing in Arlington in January not New Orleans.

According to Wiki it would be the fourth.

But it won't be.

Most Arkansas fans are extremely poor, which would mean they probably won't travel well and if they do they won't have much to spend. On the other hand they're also likely drunks, which means that they'll spend the rent money on their trailers getting trashed in the quarter. Kind of balances each other out IMO.

With the first two picks in the BCS bowl draft, the Allstate Sugar Bowl selects ... Arkansas and Ohio State.

Auburn's 49-14 victory against South Carolina clears the way for Sugar Bowl Executive Director Paul Hoolihan to make those selections and splash New Orleans in red on Jan. 4 in the Superdome. The official announcement is pending release of the final BCS standings today, but sources confirmed that will be the matchup.

I would love for LSU to be in the Sugar but when it comes to the money, doesnt all the teams split it equally?
