Give the people what they want...the box on Sunday and most weekday games is over half empty
Better food at the concession stands and let people bar b que in the outfield

I seem to recall in the early plans for the new box they were going to build a berm in the outfield. Not sure what the real reason for them doing away with it but it was disappointing.

You could do both....

Raise the outfield bleachers a couple more feet and put the bullpen underneath them. Then you can build a berm in right and left center fields.

I agree with what most have said about improvements but what irks me is that shitty advertisement behind home plate, please get rid of the Acme and the Tony C cheep arse signs. Just have LSU in purple behind home plate and leave the advertisements around the outfield.

I know they get $ for it but take it down and don't charge them next year.

A weight room is being added to the existing batting cages in right field.

Maybe have tailgating specifically in left field or a facility. It doesn't need to be smoked up like at Moo State but something really nice. Also, have a section just for students (keep them together) for games. Have rowdy sections in left & right field so our fan can torment opposing teams outfielders. Have padded seating along both 1st & 3rd baselines. The weight room is going to be great and long overdue but don't stop there. Just saying you need to keep up or get left behind.

There’s so many cheap things they could do to the Box to greatly improve it.

When I say cheap I mean things that would be inexpensive for a school like LSU. You can take those outfield bleachers and push them back and have the bull pens in front of them, you would just have to mess with the parking slightly. In right field you could probably just push the bleachers over and not have to worry about the parking lot at all.

Down the first and third base like take out the awful bleachers and put actual seats. No one would even expect the padded seats like you get behind the plate. Just regular seats. Not only would this make the box look nicer, but I think it would attract more people if they didn’t have to worry about their asses hurting 20 minutes into the game.

Moving the left field bleachers from the old Alex Box to the new stadium was one of the dumbest moves I’ve seen. It is an eye sore.

They said they did that because the left field bums asked them to do it.

I dont understand how someone responsible for Alex Box would just say frick it lets store all the shite behind the fence where everyone can see it.

Completely anecdotally, I’ve found that people who are over baseball fields are ritualistically obsessed with the grass, keeping the lines straight, making sure that the dirt on the infield is raked and watered down, etc. and not so much with making sure that anything out of the playing area is squared away, and it only gets worse as the fields they’re overseeing get nicer. Our playing field itself is immaculate and I’m sure the person whose job it is to store the equipment literally could not give a shite less about the fans seeing his equipment lol. It’d be nice if our upper leadership was detail oriented enough to take care of things like that, but sadly I don’t think they are

The priority in the construction of The Box was the grandstand, suites, and the Champions Club. Everything else was designed to provide for the most seats that could be put into the stadium. This is still the top priority. The only improvements to the stadium have been made in the grandstand area. Nothing has changed since the stadium was opened anywhere else, except for the addition of the right field bleachers. I don't think this will change in the near future.

It could also serve as a really cool and real world project for the students in design, engineering etc.( Joe that’s code for cheap child labor)

There isn't anything special about the new Box. It's as cookie cutter as it can get. They went on the cheap with the bleacher seating down the lines and in the outfield. Neither is aesthetically pleasing.

Say what you want but I feel the atmosphere isn't what it used to be.

It's definitely time for some improvements.
A permanent batter's eye is first on the list. That tarp draping thing looks cheap.

It's time to start putting some more chairback seats down the lines.

Alleva complains about not being allowed to serve alcohol yet A&M, Ole Miss and Miss St all have sections where it is flowing freely at baseball games. You could definitely do something in the outfield sections.

The new box honestly was built on the cheap

It was behind its counterparts from the beginning
I've said this since I joined TD. At first people were defensive. Now, more and more are starting to see what The Box is missing in terms of fan experience and looks. They couldn't understand that a stadium can be more than a champions club and suites. Even when it was built, those weren't exclusive to LSU.

They didn't have all the suites installed yet when it was first opened.

I know the construction costs part of it increased significantly following Katrina at least that's what the admin indicated at the time.
