Well, if you want to cut governmental waste, there is a target….having such a position is absolutely a waste of taxpayer’s dollars.

He was supposed to pardon Pete Rose "within weeks" early last year. Does anyone know why that didn't ever come to pass?

fricking boomers and your logic

Are you stupid or a liar? Either way, you're clearly another deranged lefty lunatic!
First, Cannon didn’t say he's sorry. He's dead! Second, can he not earn a pardon for his noble and charitable works after he served his time for the horrendous crime of counterfeiting?

So who's the "fricking moron"?

Obviously the other person less familiar with the constitution other than Trump is you.

You can gleefully enjoy everything he is doing, but let’s not pretend the constitution isn’t being trampled in the process.

He went to prison for it and spent the remainder of his life in service to others. According to you, there is no standard of forgiveness and once you commit the crime you shouldn’t be integrated back into society.

What in the actual hell are you talking about. Billy Cannon served his time and was absolutely integrated back into society. Well, well before this posthumous pardon occurred. Everything you said is what he did; and it was a nice redemption story. This pardon does NOTHING. Its a big symbolic nothing burger; and I don't think any differently of Billy Cannon today than I did yesterday. I don't get the point, but it certainly doesn't cause me any grief. Now pardoning drug dealers (who have polluted this country) and ponzi schemers (who have bankrupted hard working Americans), bothers the shite out of me. And I really wish Trump would stop doing that.

Not to his family who made the request.

But it absolutely changes nothing. He was guilty of counterfeiting, went to jail, and then turned his life around and had a fantastic second half of his life that he and his family could be proud of. What does this pardon do today to change any of that?

I don’t think you understand. His family asked for a pardon for their own personal reasons and it was granted.

What it changes today is irrelevant for the general, commenting public.

The pardon wasn’t for you.

Pardons are BS, in my opinion.....excusing criminals for no reason other than you own the power.

He served his time dickwad and then he spent time volunteering in the prison. And he is dead now so he won't hurt your feelings any longer. STFU

Absolutely right. The people screeching in this thread have severe TDS and/or are very low IQ people.

You don't get a pardon if the president thinks you were not guilty. The point is, he paid his dues and it was time.
