Orgeron may not be the best coach ever, but there are a few things I am thankful he's ours

It's been so nice, so so very nice. Baby Jesus nice, that we no longer have to deal with the following issues.
1) Short Side Options after a time out
2) DOG penalties after a time out
3) WTF play calling after a time out
4) Continuous misuse of time outs
5) Not knowing which play was called....after a time out.
6) RUN RUN PASS PUNT.....sometimes after a time out.
So Orgeron might not be the best ever, media paints him as a caricature of Louisianians. But at least he is putting a product out there (so far) that doesn't make you want to use an ice pick on your eyes, or strangle the person sitting next to you in the stadium 5-6 times a game. I really don't miss that shite. And it's nice to have the normal stresses of a football game instead of the shite Miles put us through in big games over the course of his career. Loved Miles, class guy, but god damn i don't miss that shite.

Those were NOT the days
Offense lines up in tight formation for run up the middle
*sees defense with 8-9 in the box*
*calls timeout*

I’m with you 100%, and then some.
I, personally, love the fact that O is a caricature of Louisiana. We cannot ever have another coach who loves our school as much as he does. And we will likely never have another coonass.
I only hope that they don’t fire him when he whips someone’s arse. I can’t believe he didn’t beat Canada to death last year for sabotaging the Troy game. Sooner or later he’s gonna get physical with someone. I only wish Spurrier were still around. I’d love to see him run his smart mouth with O

I mean if he keeps going at this pace, crushing everyone in his path, what argument can be made that he's not great?
I told you guys, I go by the evidence. Can anyone offer a better explanation as to why LSU's smashing teams like UGA?
Everything leads back to O, which is why I think he needs to be extended pronto.

Amen Brother. I was begging the NeverOs to stop posting their poison about our program on this board and giving our players, coaches, and gamelans a chance this year. It was never-ending, asinine blabber. Same stuff over and over.
This LSU program is much more fun to watch than the waining years of Miles, and the results have been impressive. It's not perfect and I'm sure there will be more stumbles along the way because this is a very competitive sport...especially in the SEC.
However, we seem to be paying attention, learning from our mistakes, and we continue to improve. With new coaches, transfer players (thankfully O pulled some rabbits out of the hat), new offensive scheme, and freshmen getting plugged into critical roles, the results have been very impressive in 2018.
Balanced and well-intended criticism is very helpful. But calling our Coach Special Ed making unfair comments about our players who are giving it their all is just immature and uncalled for on this site. It hurts recruiting, and it makes our state look like a bunch of idiots.
Besides that, what good does it do?
I'm very excited by the changes I'm seeing in LSU football. The UGA beatdown was especially sweet. Our Tigers fought like champions.

This year has been a ton of fun to watch:
The offense appears to be well balanced and WELL COACHED
No/minimal stupid mistakes, penalties, and turnovers
I have a ton of confidence when joe drops back to pass and even more when he scrambles
Defense has stayed on par as one of the best in the country
Special teams is improved BIG TIME
It’s safe to say that our coaching staff as a whole has done a tremendous job of getting this team ready to play, week in, week out.. I know it’s a hot topic around here and people are sick of it (myself included), but O has done a great job so far this year. The ‘haters’ really don’t have much to complain about

He wants to win and he’ll do whatever to win. He knew if he wanted to keep his job, he’d have to make LSU a team that can throw the ball, and they have so far. Last week against Florida, he doesn’t go for it on 4th and 1 and it bites him in the butt. This week, he goes 4-4 on 4th down including 4th downs in your own territory. After seeing that I know that he wants to win and he’ll change things and fix them. He learns from his mistakes.

We have had 7 games this season and I have to admit I haven't had a handful of head scratches every game like under Miles. Everything we do seems to make sense and I can see why we are making certain play calls on offense. I think he gets at a minimum a B+ for this season so far, probably an A- or A just because we have a loss...but 6-1 was not expected by the masses at this point.

You extend his contract if another team comes calling. But I somehow don't think that's happening just yet.

I was with you until this point.
We have the 3rd most punts/game and the worst 3rd down conversion rate we've had in the last decade.

Les literally drained the life out of this fanbase for the last couple years he was coaching.
