1. I actually Like Brennan. The weight issues are overstated.
I'm not worried about the weight much at all.

Bottom line. Dude was with us for 2 years and some schmo shows up and beats him out in like 2 weeks and that dude wasn't even fully comfortable in the offense by season's start. It ain't like Burrow showed up and pulled a Trevor Lawrence. That worries me and I like Brennan.

But let's be blunt here. Brennan BETTER be good because there's not a fricking thing behind him meaning we're in true freshman land otherwise. And, true freshman studs don't grow on trees.

He was with us for like a year and a half, and the dude that beat him out was 2 years older and 40 pounds heavier.

Also, it was a completely different offense than the year before so it’s not like that he had 2 years in the offense. He had a spring camp leg up.

Not me

His approach was asinine. He didn't believe in trying to scheme to give his players an advantage. Then, when the other coach DID do this, Miles viewed it as a failure of "execution" which is just glorified buck passing to the players.

It's football. When you play good teams, there are ALWAYS going to be a few physical matches that favor the other team. You don't just throw your fricking hands up STILL expect your guy to win the matchup and scheme as if he is going to.

But Miles did that shite ALL THE frickING TIME.

He was also COMPLETELY allergic to taking advantage of other team's weaknesses. Dude could be facing the worst pass defense in the country and throw the ball 6 times in the 1st half.

Did Burrow not beat Brennan out in like 5 minutes?

Hell. Forget that. Think about what it said that the coaches felt they had to go get him.

I'm not saying it 100% means Brennan won't be good but come on......we can't pretend the signs are positive

The Les excuses are the same as the O excuses from last year

“Our OL couldn’t block”
“Our WRs weren’t that good”

Realistically the difference is Les just tried to get better at what he was doing. O is at least trying to change things up

Which was always annoying because he was demanding they consistently block 4 & 5 star athletes who basically knew WTF was coming.

We'd have a case of the arse if another team TELEGRAPHED that they were going to run at us and our DL was successfully blocked. BY ANYONE!!!

And it seemed totally lost on Miles that it's possible to scheme someone open or into a mismatch. Dude basically HAD to have an Odell or Jarvis.

Which honestly sums up Miles. A man who recruited well enough for a while that merely showing up to the stadium was 90% of the work 9 games a year. But, eventually, in certain areas, his recruiting fell off enough that he could't rely on that either

Burrow has a football IQ as good as anyone since Hudson and the potential to be better than anyone since JR

Burrow winning the job shouldn't be a slight to anyone. He was brought here to transition to the hybrid spread offense. His potential is much higher than most QBs in the conference this year.

Well, you can't change things up every year. I don't see it as you're trying to get better. I see it as you don't know what you want to do because you don't have a guiding philosophy.

At some point, you have to commit to a philosophy and gain proficiency at it.

Commiting to the wrong philosophy doesn’t work.

"Keep attacking their strengths" is a poor football philosophy.

Brennan will take over at QB and for the first time in years there won't be problems or a let down in talent. Brennan will shine immediately. I can't believe that people can't see this. O has said repeatedly that Brennan is going to be a championship QB for LSU.

Although I believe O and believe that our offense will be better next year. We will win 10 or more regular season games, most likely 11. No coach is going to say in the spring, "We're going to suck this year!!" Sooooooooo you have to take all coach speak with a grain of salt.

Eeeeeeeeeh

I mean maybe esoterically (I mean nazism is a bad philosophy), but I think as far as our discussion goes there are such things as bad “philosophy” in a scheme/playbook sense

If they can't score at least 25 against bama I don't want to hear it. Clemson lit their asses up. There is no reason we shouldn't score 3 tds

At the end of last spring they were like “be patient with the offense we have 30% installed” and immediately went out and recruited a grad transfer QB.

So this is a lot more encouraging
