I've heard that too... Specifically when it comes to CeCe Jefferson. Suppsoedly Ed O has a great relationship with him. And a few days ago he unexpectedly scheduled an OV to LSU, while we were in D Coordinator limbo. And today we hire Ed O.

Could just be a coincidence... Or could mean something more.

Youre wrong. O was not attached to any school so he's free to talk to anyone he wants. If the NCAA thinks they can punish based on inferences, you would have heard of lawsuits against them from numerous colleges.

LOL at anyone considering the NCAA. They had their balls cut off by Miami and everyone knows it. They are dead. After the Bama Luther Davis stuff (Receipts, texts, etc) no one is going to fear them anymore.

Sure. But here's the thing everyone in this thread saying the "NCAA can't do anything" are forgetting about: there has to be absolutely no paper trail of an agreement. Now I don't think LSU is that stupid. So they had a face to face conversation with Bebe and took a gamble on letting him recruit and signing him today. If there was anything signed or agreed to before today that he would coach at LSU, THEN YES, the NCAA could punish as they saw fit.

' Makes sense the hire is today since the dead period ends tomorrow. Him not being hired by LSU made him available to talk to any recruit these past few weeks."

NCAA rules prohibit this type of contact and they can merely infer that Miles had an agreement with Orgeron. A paper trail doesn't have to exist for them to prove Orgeron's contact was improper. I really hope this didn't take place because this would be a mess.

The NCAA is toothless. You are scared of people that won't touch us

Ed O is a wizard at finding NCAA loopholes. Get used to it! His recruiting is top notch.

I figured if they were smart enough to do this they would be smart enough to leave NO trail.

this has been rumored

Orgeron confirmed on the radio earlier this year that he has been texting recruits all fall (since he was unemployed), including Daylon Mack.

You are wrong. No one can represent a school and make contact in the dead period.. As a member of TAF we were sent letters explaining this a few years ago.
I think LSU will be allowed additional visits due to losing a coach.

Nope he wasn't part of any school, he was free to talk to any recruit until his hire

Not to mention O is still getting checks from USC (at least they said so on 104.9 a couple days ago), so what would the NCAA prove??? That USC was paying O to recruit for LSU?

I wouldn't worry about the NCAA any longer. The only group we should be cognizant of is the SEC HQ. That's where the cheating bastards reside.

So because I pay $50 a year to TAF, I can get LSU sanctioned if I go up to a recruit while wearing LSU gear and tell him I want to see him in purple and gold? Doubt it.

ETA: Ed likely contributes $0 to TAF
