WF pitcher’s mechanics are similar to Chris Sale, lands closed to the left side and comes around so the ball will run a lot, going to be key that the righties lay off the inside sweeping curveball that we struggled with vs Arkansas Lefty duo. Anyway Geaux Tigers and everyone there make it feel like a home game as the pitcher is only a sophomore.

One huge advantage is the fans IMO

Wake is a great team, but I expect LSU's bats to go off tonight. I'm thinking something like a 9-6 game in favor of the Tigers. Travinski and Tommy get their bats going and pitching hangs on late.

The key is just taking good at bats and having a good pitching performance on the other side until our bats can get going. Our offense is going to put up runs just going to take some time. Their pitcher has good stuff and a good stat line but I trust Jay to have a good plan of attack.

Jay probably gave them a speech along the lines of “we will figure out who the real #1 team is tonight”.

If that doesn’t get the team pumped up and ready to kick arse, then I don’t know what will!

I think we win if we play our best game. I also think WF will actually be under more pressure than us tonight. If our tigers come out playing loose and clean we win by a couple runs

We are the best team they've played all season.

They're probably the best team we've played.

Tonight's game, for me, comes down to 2 or 3 things -

#1 Can we get a solid start out of Floyd: 5 or 6 innings and 3 runs or less?

#2 Can we get to 8 runs?

And if we get to 8 runs, (if you've watched the other CWS games you will understand) can our bullpen finish it off for us?

I agree. When's the last time we could say that? Oregon State 2017? Wake played tight in game 1. Hopefully we see that again tonight.

Only deacs under pressure are the ones sitting in left field, gotta catch the home run balls! Gonna be flying out left and right off that so called "#2 SEC Starter".

Sean Sullivan is actually the one who throws a lot like Chris Sale. Hartle is still kinda funky, but he has a more generic motion. Gonna have to be disciplined regardless.

Floyd seems to struggle the first inning or two and then settles down. It will be key if he can get through that without much damage.

Wake crushed the regionals against George Mason and Maryland. Since then LSU has looked as good if not better.

Wake Supers:
vs Bama
5-4
22-5
CWS
vs Stanford
3-2
Total:
30-11

LSU Supers:
vs Kentucky
14-0
8-3
CWS
vs Tennessee
6-3
Total:
28-6

For sure. Honestly if he can get through the top of the order with 2 runs or less I feel good about our chances.

He'll be nice and calm with the 6-run lead we spot him with to start the game!
