Oh I 100% agree, we don’t have a consistent pitcher outside of Skenes. I’m just trying to think of who I would like the most. Cooper, Little, and Hurd are the top 3 in terms of games pitched this year. I guess I’m just tired of watching them run out there and shite the bed over and over again.

Shores and Edwards were the two big in season ones. Edwards was our best reliever and Shores got hurt after his best outing.

Taylor was in the mix to start on the weekends, and even if that ended up not being the plan, he would have been a relied upon reliever.

ETA: having those guys now would change things significantly as everyone else would be relied on a little bit less.

Floyd is a game 3 starter, we lack a game 2 starter and mostly due to injuries. We have a very solid 1 and 3 but not a 2. We expect or need our offense and defense to bridge the gap but thats been a struggle on weekends in the last 2 weeks or more.

I think you start Coleman if his arm is ok. Otherwise you go Money. Which scares the crap out of me but JJ hasn’t seemed to want to start the freshmen like Guidry and Herring. At this point Little is a mess.

Money

1 Homer is better than a 6 run 8th.

At some point you have to have someone who can throw strikes and hopefully pitch to contact.

This is going to define this remainder of this season. Coach is going to simply have to do some work getting these guys ready mentally to pitch and field. His decisions on the pitcher may have to just be a feel thing.
I think the bats will follow.
I would definitely like to see starters go longer even if they give up a couple runs.

It’s clear this team doesn’t have the pitching to last 3 games. They need to throw all the best arms at the first two games, then hope they can outslug the other team in Game 3, if necessary. The problem is knowing who the best arms are. It was Edwards and Shores, then they got hurt. It looked like Ackenhausen and Herring next, then they fell apart. For a brief window it was Collins and Coleman, but that didn’t last. Then it was Hurd and Guidry. Hurd failed last night and it remains to be seen on Guidry. Now many are thinking it could be Money but he’s not been tested in conference. I guess my point is that we all can guess right now at who we think the best arms are, but we’ll probably be wrong. No one has stepped up with any consistency.

This team will have to play error free defense and put up really good offense to win in Hoover.

Hit the recruiting trail hard. Very hard. And push more NIL money into pitching.

Up until last night, Ack would have been in the top tier of relievers. I think he will still be fine, he just had an off night.

His outing against bama was even worse. His reputation was built on some non-conf success. He hasn't done anything noteworthy since he returned from injury.

No doubt LSU is going to need him going forward but I wouldn't expect him to put up many zeroes.

If LSU gets into bigger ballparks I'd say Money is actually pretty viable

Thatcher Hurd could not have been hyped in the press anymore than he was when announced coming to LSU. Biggest disappointment on this team IMO.

We have a lot of relievers who have flashed over the course of the season. The problem has been consistency.

Hahaha... that's the same as saying that we have no relief pitching

Ack has not been the same pitcher since his injury.
