Maybe on here, but really no. There are outliers where teams lose to teams they aren’t supposed to all the time. There’s a whole series of 10 minute videos on something even worse, FCS teams beating FBS teams. That stuff only hurts the perception of your program as much as you let it. It really doesn’t matter in the long run. You just gotta brush it off and expect better the last time. LSU is not and hasn’t been anytime recently, a laughingstock. A laughingstock is a school like Kansas.

The Rant 'Troy Boys?' Let that sh*t go?

Nah I’m asking you the difference big fella.

The difference is Miles had two bad seasons after the best nine year stretch in LSU history and O had one.

Congrats. Your boy didn’t get embarrassed for the first time in his five year coaching career.

(ETA: I actually forgot about the Alabama embarrassment so he doesn’t even have that See that’s how clearly it is that the standards have dropped. Alabama isn’t even on our radar anymore)

Now “hey we didn’t get blown out this year!!” is not exactly the same as all the “clear progress” talk we’re bombarded with every time someone dares to question if O is the guy.

But way to totally deflect on the history part of the question, because you know O deserves no benefit of the doubt because he hasn’t done anything worth mentioning.

This is where im at. You guys need to pump the brakes on O and this "turnaround"

He hasnt done shite yet and until he can win the west, and beat Alabama, we are still what we are, the second or third best team in the division

This is the season to tell all, and the game against TX will tell the most

Like the ULM loss did for Bama?
Like the Georgia Southern loss for UF?

I could go on and on.

Between the defensive line coach's loss to Troy, the fact that he has yet to compete vs Bama and Miles's record vs OM and Arky, I think we can call it even.

Why do you act like you don’t have personal dislike towards O? Just own it.

I don't.

I'm sure if I met him I'd love the guy.

I don't know why you have the overly simplistic opinion that I must hate him because I don't think he's a championship-caliber coach. That'd mean I hate 90% of the coaches in the FBS.

My opinion of his coaching ability and my personal feelings about him (which I really have none) are wholly separate.

The fact that so many on here are willing to just brush off the Troy loss and say “oh, just let it go” is disturbing.

Amazing how far the bar has been lowered. Just watch. If we end up losing 3 this season, there will still be reluctance to fire Orgeron. The narrative/spin will be “Well, Brady hasn’t been fully implemented” and people will buy it hook, line and sinker and pump their chests for 2020.

It’s not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. But if it makes you feel better, please continue to dwell on it and let it keep you up at night

It has absolutely nothing to do with where we are and this coming season

It means nothing

Hang on to it all you want If it makes you feel better

This is your imagination. Everyone here is saying 3 losses would be terrible

You’re right man. Remind me. In the last 3 meetings against Bama, how many points have we scored? Any shut outs?

You said Troy didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. I figured Bama was a bigger fish and a little more relevant to the program as a whole.

So I’ll ask again:

How many points in the last 3 Bama meetings?

In any of those last three meetings, have we failed to put any points on the board? If so, how many times?

Thank you for your cooperation.

What does any of this have to do with 2019?

Or is this just sky screaming? Cathartic?

It's just strange to me that Ed Orgeron has basically the same exact season, but with him we are on the up, with Les it was a decline. Les obviously gets fired with 2 losses before the season ends. Do we fire Ed if he makes it to two losses? Or do we keep lying to ourselves?

Well, there's actually posters in this thread who view a 2 loss regular season in 2019 an improvement. The problem with this is that it's only an improvement for an Orgeron coached LSU team.

The problem hiring someone who hasn't ever been a winning coach like Orgeron, is it's easy to be content with his results as a winner even though he was hired to win at the highest level.

Schools like LSU nearly always hire a head coach who has a winning history as a head coach or coordinator. If Jimbo Fisher had been hired at LSU in 2016 and his results today mirror Orgeron's, there's no chance that this board looks anything like it does today.

The jury is still out if he is a championship caliber coach. But you already made up your mind. You have a right to be a narrow minded know it all. It is OK. Some of us here might not like it but you can be whatever you want to be. Kudos for being honest regardless.

We won a NC with a two loss team

You have a problem with that?

How many two loss seasons (no ties) have we had in the past 50 years?

What you're doing is setting the plate to criticize a two loss team
