11-2 and those are the 2 losses. Both close games.
Good season for sure but still underachieved.
Obviously he wouldn’t be on a hot seat but if things go in 2020 the way the did for Miles in 2014 (8-4) I do think he would be in some trouble and rightfully so.
I think Woodward would be looking around and if the right candidate is interested I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he’s gone.
If he stayed in 2021 he would absolutely need another 10-2 season at minimum to get a fricking 6th year (and a half) without having made any real bid for a CFP spot.

Then dont post dumb shite like this and ask me the difference between the two.
Nah I’m asking you the difference big fella.
The difference is Miles had two bad seasons after the best nine year stretch in LSU history and O had one.
Congrats. Your boy didn’t get embarrassed for the first time in his five year coaching career.
(ETA: I actually forgot about the Alabama embarrassment so he doesn’t even have that
Now “hey we didn’t get blown out this year!!” is not exactly the same as all the “clear progress” talk we’re bombarded with every time someone dares to question if O is the guy.
But way to totally deflect on the history part of the question, because you know O deserves no benefit of the doubt because he hasn’t done anything worth mentioning.

I just can’t agree that losing to only Bama and Florida is underachieving. That’s losing to our two best opponents both of which will be top 10 teams and one of which will likely be a top 2 team in the country.

Lulz.
You’re kidding, right? Hard to win nattys with 9-3 ceiling every year. But I like your enthusiasm.

That’s every year though man.
Eventually it has to happen. Urban’s QB isn’t walking through the door every year.
It would be tough to envision a better setup to get to 11-1.

Les Miles was 2-4 in his last 6 games against those teams.
Combined record of the Ole Miss and Arky teams facing Orgeron 28-45
Combined record of the Ole Miss and Arky teams facing Miles 45-32
And if you really want to have fun, Miles was 6-0 against Florida and A&M his last three years... Orgeron was 3-3.

Again; the lengths people will go to try & win the internet.
You are trying to justify 2-4 record against teams LSU should almost never lose against. We won’t even get into how most of the losses were blowouts.
Correct me if I am wrong, I think O has been blown out once in his 8 or 9 losses, against state. If you understand the selection process for the CFB & important bowl games in general, you understand why that is important. Last year was the perfect example of that.
Furthermore in comparison to LSU’s last coach, you understand why that is considering a measure of improvement to where we sit today.

Don't explain my argument to me. Miles was justifiably fired because, even despite 100+ wins, three SEC championships, and two BCS championship appearances, losing three conference games a year wasn't good enough.
And if it wasn't good enough for that coach, it's not good enough for Orgeron (by his own admission, I might add). I don't really give a shite who the losses come from. As I've stated, he may have been 6-0 against those two specific teams, but the losses came from others.

Miles never lost to a G5 team.
That Troy loss turned our program into a laughingstock.
Between the defensive line coach's loss to Troy, the fact that he has yet to compete vs Bama and Miles's record vs OM and Arky, I think we can call it even.
Posted on 7/28/19 at 7:34 pm to Goldrush25
Miles was once down 31-3 in a game to Troy lol.

Only people that remember it are a few on this board.
Miles was down 28 points to a Troy team that finished with 5 losses
