Thanks Obama You Really Fixed Things, idiot.

Nit only does it get worse every year, it gets a lot worse every year. If my little "total benefits" report is accurate (no reason to doubt it) my total Healthcare costs my company $27k / year.

Insurance, with the exception of major surgeries, is a scam but everyone pays it on the off chance they will need it someday. Democrats brag about forcing providers to cover preexisting conditions but that has made it nearly unaffordable and causes deductibles to skyrocket on a lot of plans

Premiums were consistently going up before Obama and that trend has continued after
This isn't an Obama issue. Trump said he would replace ACA in his first term. The republicans have done nothing to reform healthcare.
ETA - I shouldn't say nothing. TrumpRx is a good thing and shouldn't be disregarded

Completely untrue, premiums and copays did not increase at this level prior to Obamacare and trying to blame others instead of Obama is idiotic. It was his brainchild

He's been gone for 10 years.
The Republicants share the blame at this point. They've had two trifectas and didn't fix it so it's just as much Thanks McCuckold.

More accurately trying to pin the whole problem on Obama is lazy and stupid for anyone that is even remotely interested in the facts. This isn't a red/blue issue and anyone who tells you otherwise is dishonest.

You can’t “fix” a seriously flawed plan that was never intended to fix the private insurance industry. They could have offered a government option for people who were self employed, retired, disabled, etc. to fill in the gap prior to Medicare. Instead, they invented an unaffordable behemoth that requires subsidies to make it remotely “affordable” and forced millions of people into it. Like every other government program, it’s impossible to get rid of once initiated. The blame lies squarely on the people who created it

Skyrocketing deductibles and narrow networks are definitely an ACA problem. Those were nowhere near as bad before the ACA.

Your chart is idiotic and inaccurate, not to mention worker’s earnings haven’t outpaced inflation significantly since 2010 and there was also a significant increase in premiums in 2010 and on no planet does any worker today contribute less while premiums increase.

One of the largest chunks of Obamacare was just this, via expanding Medicaid.
I have to imagine the price impacts directly from Obamacare stopped shocking the system some time ago. Now we're experiencing price increases that are directly scaling with the costs of medical treatment.

This specific plan had all the momentum to change it, but no real plan to do so.

Expanding an already unaffordable system, Medicare, to include millions of others isn’t a viable plan. Most people don’t realize that Medicare isn’t “free” and people on Medicare pay premiums just like private insurance. The problem with Medicare is its payouts for procedures to providers is paltry and more and more doctors aren’t accepting it any longer.

Hussein Obama was a disaster on many fronts……

I am assuming you mean Medicaid, and I agree. But wasn't that the suggestion you provided in an earlier post?
But, the larger point remains: the price shock of the ACA are long gone. Now, like with Covid inflation, the baseline is a higher number, but the increases now shouldn't have any real impact from the ACA itself. That should already baked into the pricing, at some time long ago.
There are structural issues in play that would prevent a return, even to pre-ACA levels. Remove any of these programs (ACA, Medicaid, Medicare) and people will still get medical treatment for "free" via the ER. This will increase costs to all of us and we will pay for that via higher insurance costs and treatment costs. Fixing this system will involve a lot of transition and pain and nobody, Democrat, DSA, Republican, or MAGA, have the stomach for that.
The 2 biggest significant factors that need to be changing a system where employers provide insurance, and forcing the ER to treat everyone. Fixing these 2 are more important than rescinding the ACA.

Do you think the graph suggests that? Do you know how to read graphs?

Check the end of your graph, at the top boy wonder and yes as a percentage that is what your graph claims and your graph also claims that wages are far outpacing inflation. Yes, I am the one who can’t read a graph lol everything you post is stupid

Correct on Medicaid but the point is like most insurance providers, they have a massive number of possible patients and that was the draw of Medicare/Medicaid. A physician could theoretically be available to thousands of possible patients for less payouts. Forcing millions of others onto an already overwhelmed system caused many physicians to no longer accept Medicare/Medicaid limiting the options for patients while driving up costs. The solution isn’t expanding either and you are correct about it being painful, eventually something will have to happen

Can’t believe Obama has been president for like 6 years and he still hasn’t fixed it
Posted on 10/16/26 at 7:22 am to el Gaucho
The problem is the ACA and it isn’t going away. It’s unfixable at this point barring massive changes that no politician is going to undertake
