1. It's in Tampa
2. It's against Iowa

I'm seeing this a lot. My question is this; when will it change? What will it take for this to go away - another championship game appearance? I just do not get this line of thinking. It's been almost 2 years since that game

I think a win over Bama and a Sugar bowl win would do it.

So, my cost for 45 - 45 yard line tickets for UW NEXT season stands at $415 per ticket ---- I can't imagine what some folks will be listing them for on StubHub around Augsust 1 next year.

I'm sorry but spending that much money on a game that isn't for the national championship is just dumb

Because Baylor fans think they are championship caliber and playing UCF is not exciting. Why pay all that money for a shitty matchup?

Sounds a bit similar to LSU fans this season.

Stay safe, poverty gamers.

It's just another non-BCS bowl against an unranked and uninteresting opponent to cap another year of losing to Bama.

ETA: I'd have to fly many more miles than anyone here and I save that for games I give a frick about (like Wisc). However, if next season is like the last 2, I will save my money entirely and my blood pressure.

I was wondering why we got seats in the corner of the stadium if LSU only sold 6000 tickets. Surely LSU got 6000 tickets for better seats????

BCS Teams Struggling To Sell Bowl Tickets

Looks like LSU isn't the only team having a hard time selling it's allotment.

I saw where LSU is saying they still have lower bowl tickets available.

People spend so much $$ on "seat fees" and season tickets the bank account is empty by bowl time for a lot of folks. Only a major bowl makes them dig deeper.

What I would really like to know is how many schools actually sold their full allotment of tickets for any given bowl game? I'm sure this statistic will pop up after bowl season.

Wish I could get down to Tampa for this bowl. Win or lose, would love to see LSU play in person. Just can't make it happen.

It's a combination of not being economically smart with a mediocre bowl, shite venue and unattractive opponent. I know those are the reasons why I'm not going. Mostly the opponent because if we were playing for a NC I'd scrap money somewhere to get those tickets for sure...

Unfortunately our program is showing the negative symptoms of success. When you routinely play in BCS title games and are competing for SEC/national titles, it's hard to get up for boring Iowa in what seems to be the "who gives a crap" bowl. TBH, at least the CFA had a little sex appeal last year with basically a top10 matchup against Clemson.

Go back 15 years when LSU sucked as a program and we'd have taken 20,000 to the Outback Bowl.

It's good and bad.. because it shows that we've experienced so much success over the years (good) that even what is actually a good bowl seems like crap to us (bad). The Outback Bowl is a good bowl game and there have many times over the years LSU fans would've LOVED to have been taken by the outback. This year and this particular matchup just doesn't do it for most people.

All that said, I'll be in Tampa for my 14th consecutive LSU bowl game. Would've preferred cotton, but Tampa/outback will be a nice change of pace and different. I'm not excited about the matchup, but I'll be there hanging from the pirate ship cheering on my Tigahs.
