Only 2pts scored by the defense entire season, zero defensive TDs.

On the safety vs TAMU.

Two TDs from special teams - blocked punt and punt return.

Am I missing anything?

eta: I'm not complaining - quite the opposite, my point is that this team never required any 'luck' - they won with offense dominating every game.

Well, the offense more than made up for this. It was an "unusual" year for the LSU defense in that regard and others, but what mattered most is that they did not fail to deliver when it mattered AND they peaked at the right time. This was a very, very good defense.

I wanted 50 or more against atm. Those 2 points made my day. 50-7.

I don't think even they were ever a factor, were they? Would you count Alabama - did that game hinge on points off turnovers?

Prior to 2019, I would have said that with a LSU offense, a little luck with a pick-6 or something would be needed to win a big game. But with this offense, it was never even needed. They didn't even need kickoff returns. I bring it up because I think it makes the accomplishments of this offense that much more impressive.

That's not how that works.

Just based off interceptions returned for TD's, not many teams did return many. I just looked it up on NCAA.com and was actually shocked that LaTech lead the nation in interceptions returned for TD's (5) last season.

Yeah. The Tua fumble leading to a Chase TD and the Queen INT leading to the CEH TD catch.

wasn't needed but still kind of odd. Would be interesting to look and see how often have we had seasons like that where the defense scores no TD's

If i think about all the INTs or fumble recoveries we did have only Stingley's int against UGa( the 2nd one) was only one i could see possibly returned for TD based on how it was picked and running start. The rest of our INTs in fumble recoveries were in our endzone or close to it. making most of them have to be close to 90 yard returns

Imagine how many games we could have won this year had the defense scored more

Well.... you could say that gave Joe Burrow more opportunities to pad his stats since the defense didn't do the scoring for him....

Thinking back, the only non-offensive touchdowns were the Trey Palmer punt return against Northwestern State and the blocked punt for a touchdown against Vandy
