We've got to be the most bipolar fan base in the world.
This is one of the worst Ole Miss Teams we've played in recent history.
They are giving up 12 more points/game than they averaged over the past 9 years.
They are giving up 5.5 yards per rush which is higher than the past 9 years as well (usually in the 3.6 range)
Despite the praise, they are right around their normal points/game.
They're bad on 3rd down.
If LSU is supposedly one dimensional on offense, these guys are worse. Averaging only 105 rushing yards per game.

The only x factor is the emotion/letdown aspect that others have mentioned. I think we're playing more focused and determined now though, so it shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully they can sustain that on the road.

Lawrence, Battle, Weathersby, and Herron will all be on hand. Guice is getting better. Key is getting better. OL is gelling.
I think we will be fine.

Don't be shocked or get bent out of shape when we get flagged for a bunch of pass interference calls. Just saying.......home cooking

This game will be tough and it always is. They have nothing to lose. If we play like we did the second half of Auburn, we will win. Big IF!!! Geaux to Hell Ole Miss!

Not overly concerned with the Ole Miss defense. Canada is going to have fun this week.

#117 in the country against the run. If LSU can't get the inside running game going against this OM group, it's not going to happen this season.

This game is always tougher than it is expected to be, regardless of who is favored. In that regard, Ole Miss is our truest "rival."

With that being said, I am confident in LSU for this weekend. We should be ok in the trenches, and against the run. I have seen Patterson thread the needle very easily, so our secondary better be ready.

I don't know how Ole Miss stacks up defensively, but as long as Etling doesn't make any boneheaded decisions, we should be ok and hopefully won't have to rely on him making miraculous throws.

Pass rush will be crucial. It's time for Key to step it up.

In recent past years when we had a more dominant running game than we appear to have at this point we struggled against OM (and others) because opponents knew we would not throw and kept putting 8 defenders in the box. This allowed OM to beat us when we should have run them out of the stadium. Same will hold true this time unless we show the ability to throw the ball (which I think we do).

I’d be more concerned about defending that offense.

Concur, last year I attended the game with my son at D.V. They jumped out and actually moved the ball well for most of the 1st half. D.A. obviously made some key adjustments and we pretty much shut them down in the 2d half. It sure helped that LF went off and had his record setting night which kept the pressure on OM to keep up....and they couldn't.

I see Sat night being similar where OM might have some early success, but I fully expect the D to 'catch up' with pressure and locking down their receivers.

On OFF it is a GREAT night to get that running game turning and churning. Extend drives, control the clock and field position. Get some big runs from Guice who I think is just ready to have that BIG break out game. Mix in the short passes and take some shots on the right downs/distances....and of course gotta have 'more jet sweeps' AKA cowbell!

God damn I can't wait to have a QB other defenses actually respect, instead of selling out to stop the run because they know we aren't a deep threat.

My worry is a letdown. Just had two big arse wins in a row with a bye and Bama on the horizon.

That's my big worry. This is definitely a potential trap game for LSU. I hope the players don't get too caught up with patting themselves on the back for their two great wins the last two weeks, and relax a little. Ole Miss will NOT be a pushover. I'm hoping that Coach O will have them primed. This game means a lot to him. If LSU comes to play as they can, I think it should be a fun game for us to watch.

Have a feeling guice and Williams both have big days. Cal held them to 16. There were some dumb TO's and I imagine they will be more focused against us. However we have some db's that are better than what ole miss has seen but they have 3 NFL WR that and a great qb who is tough to bring down and gets rid of the ball quick. We have to shite down the run and pin ears back. And we need to run run and run some more. Keep shea on bench and control the game. We can't get into a shootout. And red zone D is crucial. They will move the ball so we need to force fg's. Our tigers will be confident and will win due to great red zone defense. Lsu 28-19

and the chance of LSU taking them lightly are my two biggest concerns

I don't think we'll take them lightly.

My concern is just being emotionally flat, after two emotionally intense games against UF and Auburn.

There's only so many times a team can get up to max intensity. Very hard to do it 2 weeks in a row (much less 3), especially now on the road.

I hope we can, though.

Control the line of scrimmage on offense
Pressure their QB
Tight coverage on their receivers

We'll be kneeling come the 4th.
