Burns is playing a hybrid LB/safety role. Perfect for Perkins.

He’s a weak side backer and situational pass rusher.

Was disappointed Perk playing linebacker. Should play linebacker with Penn and Weeks brothers. Perk at star. Will never understand.

Agree, no reason he can’t play Star

Put W.Weeks on the field. That puts the most playmakers on the field.

Perkins is good in coverage but he isn't a safety

You’re right he’s not a traditional safety. The Star position is a hybrid safety that blitzes much more and is closer to the line of scrimmage. I don’t understand how Baker has all offseason and doesn’t use this

Dude was horrible. Just running into the back oh his own defenders the whole game. Missing tackles. Dude is so fricking over rated. Hate saying it

He never been good except for a game against Arkansas. Too much raw talent that can't be fixed. Dude is more sizzle than steak.

He’s a Will LB or SS. Play him in the Star and be done with it. OL will continue to neutralize him at MLB. Every big running team we play will take him out of the game until we make the switch. We won’t see it though, it’s a shame.

Whit Weeks is the best LB LSU has right now and it's not close.

That means, “I have no confidence in what I’m saying.”

Seemed to be dominating in camp
Nothing is more useless for predicting how someone will play in real games than a camp report.

You don't think the Troj-enz Offensive plan was dialed in on him?

The whole reason he was moved to the MLB is it, theoretically, makes it harder on teams to gameplan around him. Which at least makes sense. I’m just not sure if he’s good enough to make that work.

He's lost on defense a lot of the time. He doesn't read well. He reacts well but can be fooled really easily. He's easy to block and offensive players can get leverage on him pretty easy. He has terrible anticipation skills. His high school coach made a similar comment about him being off the charts athletically but needed to learn how to play the game.

All of this. He's pure athleticism but still seems to be lost trying to play a traditional LB role. He lacks a lot of skill as a pass rusher other than just speed. Honestly, he probably needs to come back one more year to try and improve.

This. He's horrible at taking on and then getting off blocks.

I'm starting to get a feeling that Kelly has a hard on for veteran guys that've been around.

He pulled the same shite with Weeks last year and we were all scratching our heads wondering why he barely played for 3 straight games.

I mean watching the tape that Carter put on Youtube, he kinda looks like he is just running around doing whatever he wants. Its a pretty big problem.
Kelly said he was trying to do too much instead of his own job. That can be corrected easily. A lot of these guys feel like they have to compensate for others, and he has the speed to do it, so he tries to a lot. If the man follows his assignment, he can get way better on the field.
