yards will come with awareness. a better stat would be measuring the amount of rushing TDs by him because we never had an issue getting to the redzone last year

The Def allows an average of less than 280 yrds of total offense per game and Nuss rushes for over 30 yards per game.

Don't believe their is a single metric other than scoring, but think his int's is more important than rushing yards.

Actually it’s two:

Opponents third down conversion rate
LSU red zone TD ratio

We are going to need a run game and a defense to win the natty.

How about LSU leads the league in sacks, and our D is ranked in top 25 in the nation. That's what LSU used to be, and what I would love to see again.

Since 2023, LSU has led the SEC in sacks 3 times. 2003, 2006, & 2011. Last season, we were #14 (#4 SEC), the first top 25 since 2019 (#19). The first top 15 finish since 2016 (#14). Here is the data since 2003. For the SEC rank, I used the teams in conference at the time, and I counted the SEC teams manually, so mistakes are a possibility. Feel free to let me know where they are so I can fix them.

I used this site for the data https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/sacks-per-game?date=2025-01-21

Forced turnovers are also the least replicable stat

True, there are some funny stats that cater to whims: fumbles lost from the number of fumbles is one. Interestingly red zone offensive success is another stat that is hard to put a finger on, but matters so much.

My answer to what stat will mightily contribute to success in 2025 is 3rd down and 4th down stop % on D

Disagree, more important to have less than 7-8 interceptions

Better than that score one more point than all of your opponents every game! That’s called WINNING!

I’ll go with one metric. 10 regular season wins for the playoffs. Then 2 more wins.
